Here's what to look for if you are traveling in the Baltimore metropolitan area this week. This list of highway projects includes only newly announced work, not continuing construction.

New highway projects

U.S. 1 north -- Expect single lane closures from Miller Road to Sheradale Drive for drainage work.

I-695 inner and outer loops -- Single lane closures between U.S. 40 and Liberty Road from midnight to 10 a.m. today. On the

outer loop only, the second left lane will be closed from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m. today.

U.S. 50/301 -- Expect a traffic shift on eastbound U.S. 50 at noon Tuesday from South River to I-97. Motorists will be directed to new pavement built on the median side. Also, expect lane closures from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. tomorrow through Friday on eastbound and westbound U.S. 50/301 from the Patuxent River to I-97.

U.S. 50/Route 424 -- Expect delays for lane closures and traffic pattern shifts on U.S. 50 from 11 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. today through Friday for work on new Davidsonville Road briges.

I-695 inner and outer loops-- From 6 a.m. today through 5 a.m. tomorrow, the right lane of the inner loop at Harford Road will be closed. Additionally, the southbound ramp to Harford Road will also be closed. Detour signs will be posted. Expect delays and single lane closures between Belair Road and Perring Parkway from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday. Two lanes may closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-95 southbound, Route 216 to Van Dusan Road -- Expect two right lanes to be closed until 5 a.m. tomorrow.

I-95 northbound, Van Dusan Road to Route 216 -- Expect two right lanes to be closed until 4 p.m. today.

Sunday train service

Metro service on Sundays will be discontinued beginning next week.

Also beginning next week, light-rail trains on Sundays will run every 30 minutes between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., instead of the current rate of every 15 minutes.

Greek Festival

The annual Greek Festival will close Preston Street between Maryland Avenue and Cathedral Street until 6 a.m. tomorrow, requiring the following bus route change:

No. 21 -- Westbound via Preston Street to Maryland Avenue, south on Maryland Avenue, west on Chase Street, west on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, north on Howard Street, west on Dolphin Street, then via regular route.

No change eastbound.

Veterans Day

Buses and light-rail trains will operate on a regular schedule Wednesday. But MARC trains will operate on a holiday schedule. The information center will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. instead of 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
