ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY — One store was extensively damaged by fire and five others received smoke and water damage when a single-alarm fire struck Harundale Mall on Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie last night.
The fire, reported at 11:21 p.m. and extinguished in less than 20 minutes, apparently began in the Card Shop, which incurred heavy fire damage.
The Mary Ann shop, Kay-bee Toys, Christie's clothing store, Fancy Toys of Harundale and the Record Shop all sustained smoke and water damage and were not expected to be open today, fire officials said.
No injuries were reported among the nearly 40 firefighters manning equipment from stations at Glen Burnie, Marley, South Glen Burnie, Earleigh Heights and Riviera Beach.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
