3 charged in break-ins of Crofton home and car

County police have charged three men with breaking into a Crofton home Wednesday afternoon.

According to the police report, officers were called to a home in the 2200 block of Notley Lane by a witness who saw men breaking in.

Officers caught three men as they were leaving the house. Detectives said the burglars had obtained keys to the house several days earlier, when they broke into the victim's car while it was parked at Annapolis Mall.

Police also confiscated a police flashlight that had been stolen from a police car last year, according to the report.

Chad Alan Bias, 22, of the 2000 block of Harbor Drive in Annapolis; Mark Groover, 27, of the unit block of Pride Lane in Arnold, and Charles Richard Hawes, 24, of the same address, also were charged with theft from an auto.

* Severn: Burglars broke into a home in the 8300 block of Candlewick Court Tuesday and stole money, jewelry and a handgun. The property is valued at $3,586.

* Crofton: A 12-year-old boy reported to police that someone stole his bicycle Tuesday from the front yard of his home in the 1700 block of Aberdeen Circle.
