SHOOTING: Western District -- Raymond Marigin of the 1500 block of W. Fayette St. was shot in the left shoulder late Tuesday during an incident involving three other men in the first block of N. Carrollton Ave. Mr. Marigin was taken to the University of Maryland Medical Center for treatment.

THEFT: Northern District -- Someone broke into a 1982 Mercedes-Benz owned by a resident of the 1100 block of Andover Road while it was parked in the 5400 block of The Alameda on Wednesday and stole property valued at $110.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A collector for the Kovens furniture company in the 1300 block of W. Baltimore St. was in the 3600 block of Cottage Ave. about 1 p.m. Wednesday when two men, one armed with a handgun, robbed him of an undisclosed sum of cash.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A gunman robbed the Oakley Avenue food market in the 2800 block of Oakley Ave. of cash and cigarettes about 4 p.m. Wednesday.

SHOOTING: Northern District -- Glen Leach of the 2900 block of Edgecombe Circle North was arguing with a man he knows near his home about 10 p.m. Wednesday when the other man pulled out a handgun and shot him in the left hip. The gunman escaped and Mr. Leach was taken to Sinai Hospital for treatment.

THEFT: Southwestern District -- Someone broke into a 1984 Chevrolet truck Wednesday night while it was parked in the 2800 block of Sunset Road and stole property valued at more than $400.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A gunman entered Murry's steaks in the 4500 block of Edmondson Ave. shortly after 6 p.m. Wednesday and ordered an employee to give him the contents of the cash register. The gunman escaped with more than $100.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Property valued at more than $1,100 was stolen from a house in the 4200 block of Vermont Ave. Wednesday after someone entered through a rear door.

THEFT: Central District -- Three sweaters were stolen from a display shelf at Sizes Unlimited in the 300 block of N. Howard St. on Wednesday. They were valued at $175.

THEFT: Central District -- Electrical supplies valued at $800 were stolen from a construction site in the first block of S. Howard St. between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. Taken were 800 copper fittings, watt regulators and meters.

THEFT: Central District -- A car owned by a Hagerstown resident was parked on Calvert Street near Pratt Street over the weekend when someone broke into the vehicle and stole a 35mm camera, lenses and a carrying bag, all valued at $1,000.

BURGLARY: Central District -- A leather coat valued at $800 was stolen Monday from a closet inside a house in the 1000 block of Shields Place.

THEFT: Central District -- An antique brass door knocker was stolen from the front door of a house in the 1600 block of Bolton St. over the weekend. The door knocker was valued at $100.

THEFT: Central District -- Charges of theft were expected to be placed against an employee of Serigraphics Screen Inc. in the 200 block of Holliday St. after he was seen taking several T-shirts and sweat suits from the building while emptying the trash Wednesday. The property, valued at nearly $150, was recovered.

BURGLARY: Central District -- Property valued at $700 was stolen from a house in the 2500 block of Linden Ave. on Wednesday by someone who entered through a kitchen window.

BURGLARY: Central District -- Several pieces of property owned by a person evicted from a house in the 100 block of E. North Ave. were stolen Wednesday morning from the sidewalk in front of the house. The property was valued at more than $1,200.

THEFT: Central District -- A car owned by a resident of Pennsylvania was broken into Wednesday while parked in the 100 block of S. Eutaw St. Someone stole $800 worth of property, including several pieces of clothing, tools and a radio.

BURGLARY: Central District -- Someone broke into an apartment in the 700 block of Washington Place by forcing a door and stole property valued at more than $200.

ROBBERY: Central District -- A resident of the 400 block of Notchcliff Road was in the 1400 block of Jordan St. Tuesday night when a gunman robbed him of $230.

THEFT: Central District -- Property valued at nearly $150 was stolen from a car Wednesday while it was parked in the 2500 block of N. Charles St. Entry was by prying a vent window open with an unknown tool.

BURGLARY: Central District -- Someone broke into a house in the 200 block of Robert St. on Wednesday by forcing the front door and stole a TV and a camera valued at more than $500.

THEFT: Central District -- A multi-speed bike was stolen from the lobby of the medical building in the 300 block of W. Fayette St. on Wednesday. The bike was valued at $200.

BURGLARY: Central District -- Two TVs, a TV cable box and a telephone were stolen Wednesday from an apartment in the 700 block of Mulberry St. after someone entered by forcing the door.

RAPE TRY/ARREST: Central District -- Police arrested a man early Wednesday and were holding him at the station lockup pending charges he attempted to rape a woman. The victim, a resident of the 1200 block of N. Stricker St., was visiting friends in the 200 block of Robert St. when a man she knows attempted to rape her about 2 a.m. Wednesday while she was sleeping on a living room couch.

THEFT: Central District -- Someone broke into a 1984 Chevrolet pickup truck owned by a New Jersey resident while it was parked in the 100 block of Hopkins Place Tuesday and stole a suitcase containing property valued at more than $800.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Property of unknown value was stolen Wednesday by someone who broke into the High's dairy store in the 3900 block of Erdman Ave. Entry was gained by breaking a window.

CARJACKING: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 900 block of Belgian Ave. was walking toward her 1988 Nissan Maxima on Tuesday night while it was parked at the Northwood Shopping Center in the 1500 block of Havenwood Road when a man approached and ordered her to give him the keys. The woman complied, and the man got into the car and drove off.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Someone broke into a house in the 1600 block of E. Cold Spring Lane on Wednesday and stole stereo equipment and a telephone answering machine.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Three men assaulted a resident of the 1200 block of Federal St. late Tuesday in the 5400 block of Frankford Ave. and robbed him of his wallet containing more than $70. The victim sustained a laceration to the mouth that required medical treatment.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Tools valued at nearly $150 were stolen from a 1985 Ford on Wednesday while it was parked in the 5300 block of Gardenwood Road.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- A 79-year-old resident of the 4500 block of LeSalle Road was walking near his home early Wednesday when he was assaulted by two men who robbed him of more than $100.

SHOOTING: Western District -- A man known as "Scotty" was being sought in connection with the shooting of John Johnson of the 2400 block of Francis St. on Wednesday afternoon in the 1500 block of Whitelock St. Mr. Johnson was attacked shortly after 4 p.m. by the suspect who first struck him with a length of wood before pulling out a handgun and shooting the victim in the buttock. Mr. Johnson was taken to the University of Maryland Medical Center for treatment.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A resident of the 700 block of N. Carrollton Ave. was robbed of $500 about 10 a.m. Tuesday by two men, one with a large-caliber revolver, in the 1700 block of W. Baltimore St.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A gunman robbed a resident of the 1500 block of Argyle Ave. of $12, a leather jacket and prescription medicine over the weekend while the victim was in the 600 block of N. Carrollton Ave.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Someone broke through a window into the Little Macedonia Church in the 2600 block of Pennsylvania Ave. over the weekend and stole two ceiling fans valued at more than $100.

GROBBERY TRY/CUTTING: Northern District -- A resident of the 700 block of W. 33rd St. was cut on the right arm by a man who demanded the victim's money about 11 p.m. Tuesday near his home. After the cutting, the assailant fled.

THEFT: Northern District -- Someone entered a house in the 500 block of E. 35th St. between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning by using a key and stole a set of car keys belonging to the occupant. The thief then stole the occupant's 1988 Toyota.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- An 82-year-old woman was robbed of her purse and other property worth $55 by two men who demanded the purse from her as she walked near her home in the 900 block of E. Lake Ave.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone forced the front door into the American Legion Hall in the 3600 block of Hickory Ave. on Tuesday night and stole money from at least one vending machine.

ROBBERY TRY: Northern District -- A woman walking in the 4900 block of Winslow Road about 1 p.m. Wednesday fought off an attempt by a man to grab her purse.

THEFT: Northern District -- A wrought iron bench valued at $300 was stolen Monday from the front porch of a house in the 4600 block of Roland Ave.

THEFT: Northern District -- Someone broke through the rear window into a 1985 pickup truck owned by Baltimore Lock Shop in the 800 block of W. 36th St. over the weekend and stole tools valued at $500.

THEFT: Northern District -- A 10-speed bike valued at $100 was stolen Monday when someone cut a security chain while the bike was left unattended in the 100 block of W. 39th St.

THEFT: Northern District -- Property valued at nearly $1,800 was stolen from a mobile home with Indiana registration in the first block of E. 29th St. over the weekend. Entry was gained by breaking a rear window.

SCHOOL BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone got through a panel on the roof of Guilford Elementary School in the 4500 block of York Road early Wednesday and tampered with computer equipment from at least one classroom, but escaped when police arrived, responding to a burglar alarm.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- When a resident of the 5300 block of Midwood Ave. returned home Tuesday evening she found a man ransacking a bedroom. The intruder fled without taking any property. The man entered the house through a rear basement window.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Tools valued at nearly $2,500 were stolen over the weekend from an outdoor storage shed in the 6000 block of Old Harford Road.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Someone broke through a rear window into a house in the 900 block of Aldricks Way on Tuesday and stole cash and at least one handgun.

THEFT: Central District -- Someone broke into several Baltimore Sun vending boxes between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning at various downtown locations and stole an undetermined sum of money. The boxes are located in the 200 block of E. Redwood St., the 200 block of N. Calvert St., Water Street, North Charles Street and Light Street.

BURGLARY: Central District -- Two multi-speed bikes were stolen between Monday night and Tuesday morning from a garage in the 1000 block of N. Calvert St. The bikes were valued at nearly $1,200.

THEFT: Central District -- A van owned by the A.J. Michaels plumbing company was broken into Tuesday in the 1300 block of Eutaw St. by someone who stole tools valued at more than $1,000.

THEFT: Central District -- An Italian walking stick valued at nearly $200 was stolen over the weekend from inside a house in the first block of E. Mount Vernon Place.

BURGLARY: Central District -- A two-way radio valued at $2,000 was stolen Tuesday from a construction company's trailer in the 700 block of E. Baltimore St.

THEFT: Central District -- An employee of the Glass Slipper in the first block of Custom House Ave. is being sought in connection with the theft over the weekend of nearly $400 that belonged to another employee. A warrant was expected to be issued for the woman's arrest.

THEFT: Central District -- A New Yorker's 8mm video-camera, valued at $200, was stolen from a car Tuesday on the third level of a garage in the 200 block of W. Lombard St.

THEFT: Central District -- A 10-inch power saw valued at more than $300 was stolen from a carpentry company's car in the 1700 block of Maryland Ave. Entry was gained by someone breaking a window with a rock.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- Three men, one with a knife and another with a gun, robbed a Baltimore County man of his wallet and a small amount of money in the 2300 block of Frederick Ave. on Wednesday night. The trio drove off in a white car.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Someone broke into a house in the 2400 block of Frederick Ave. through the kitchen window on Tuesday afternoon and stole a TV valued at $300.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Property valued at $50 was stolen from the Pop Shop in the 2300 block of Wilkens Ave. on Tuesday night after someone gained entry by breaking a window.

AUTO THEFT: Southwestern District -- A 1990 Honda was stolen from the first block of Cobber Lane between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- A house in the 500 block of Covington Road was broken into between Tuesday night and TTC Wednesday morning by someone who stole a VCR valued at $200.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- A console telephone valued at $300 was stolen Wednesday morning from an office at Valley Auto Sales in the 1900 block of Wilkens Ave.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Property valued at $250 was stolen from a house in the 800 block of Wicklow Road on Wednesday by someone who entered through a basement door.

THEFT: Southwestern District -- Someone broke into a house in the 3300 block of Frederick Ave. on Wednesday morning by breaking a window and stole property valued at $150.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Property valued at nearly $600 was stolen from a garage in the 3600 block of Clifton Ave. on Wednesday after someone forced open a door.

ROBBERY: Towson District -- Two men, one armed with a handgun, entered The Country's Best Yogurt shop in the 1000 block of Taylor Ave. about 6 p.m. Wednesday and ordered a clerk to give them the contents of the cash register. The men escaped with more than $100.

ROBBERY: Wilkens District -- A gunman robbed the High's dairy store in the 3800 block of Hollins Ferry Road of an undisclosed sum of cash about 3 p.m. Wednesday.

ROBBERY: Garrison District -- A resident of the 3600 block of Paskin Place was walking near his home about 6 p.m. Wednesday when a gunman ordered him down onto the ground. There, the gunman robbed the victim of an undisclosed sum of cash before fleeing.

AUTO THEFT: Parkville District -- A 1991 Mazda 626, valued at $14,000, was stolen from the 8400 block of Nunley Drive on Wednesday morning. The owner told police someone tried to steal the car Tuesday night.

AUTO THEFT: Parkville District -- Someone stole a 1990 Honda Accord valued at $13,000 from the 8700 block of Baker Ave. between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

THEFT: White Marsh District -- Two bikes valued at $400 were stolen Tuesday from outside a house in the 8600 block of Philadelphia Road.

SUSPICIOUS FIRE: Parkville District -- A fire that began in the living room of a house in the 2300 block of Taylor Ave. on Tuesday afternoon has been ruled suspicious and remains under investigation. No injuries were reported in the 5:40 p.m. fire.

BURGLARY: Parkville District -- Two men fled from a house in the first block of Sandstone Court on Tuesday night when the occupant arrived home. The men were in the dining room looking for money and valuable property when the occupant surprised them. Nothing appeared missing.
