The Odenton Heritage Society has scheduled a general membership meeting for 7 p.m. Thursday, at the Odenton Library. Guest speaker Will Mumford, from the Ann Arundell Historical Society, will show slides and answer questions on truck farming in Anne Arundel County. Members and non-members are welcome.
The Fort Meade Retired Officers' Wives Club's monthly luncheon is set for 11 a.m. Nov. 3 at the Fort Meade Officers' Club. During the social hour, strolling musician Dick Steiner will entertain.

Cadette Girl Scout Troop 227 meets at Nichols Bethel United Methodist Church. The girls are 13, and many have been Scouts since age 5. The troop enjoys camping and working on Girl Scout badges and crafts service projects.

Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 6F is sponsoring a Halloween party from 8:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Friday at the Odenton Fire Department hall on Route 175. The evening will include music by "The Pros," a costume contest with cash prizes, a talent contest and game wheels. Tickets are $13 per person and include snacks, beer, wine and soda.
