Sheriff's deputy fires at Aberdeen suspect
A Harford County sheriff's deputy fired shots at an Aberdeen man shortly after police responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Roy Rogers Restaurant in Edgewood.
Police said Detective John Miner fired on Paul Douglas Mullins, 19, on Oct. 17 after the suspect is alleged to have pointed a shotgun at the officer while leaving the restaurant. Detective Miner fired several shots, none of which hit the suspect, police said.
Mr. Mullins, of the 700 block of W. Bel Air Ave., and 17-year-old Rickey Ray Parish II tricked employees into letting them in the backdoor at about 4:30 a.m. by posing as deliverymen, police said.
The suspects then handcuffed two employees to a table, but a third employee fled the restaurant and called police from a pay phone, police said.
Before police arrived, the suspects forced the restaurant's manager to open a safe containing about $2,000, police said. The suspects took the money and tried to leave the restaurant, police said.
Police caught Mr. Parish near the front door. Mr. Mullins, who dropped the satchel of money, ran across Pulaski Highway and behind Edgewater Village Shopping Center, police said.
He was arrested four hours later at Mr. Parish's home in the 6900 block of Chipper Drive in Edgewood. The shotgun used in the robbery was recovered on a woodpile behind the shopping center, police said.
Both men were being held Friday in lieu of $15,000 bond at the Harford County Detention Center.
Crime group offers reward for theft tips
The Harford County Crime Solvers are offering a reward for information leading to the arrest of thieves who took cars and auto parts from several car dealerships late last month.
The thefts occurred at Bel Air Dodge, Auto Gallery and Bel Air Nissan. A 1987 dark blue Chevrolet S10 truck and a 1990 black Nissan 300ZX were stolen, along with tires, wheels and wheel covers. Losses were placed at $29,250.

2 youths accused of throwing rocks
Two juveniles have been charged with malicious destruction for allegedly throwing rocks at cars traveling in the 700 block of Pulaski Highway last Sunday.
A Bel Air man reported that his 1986 Oldsmobile's passenger side front door window was smashed, causing $150 damage, at 12:25 p.m. Oct. 17. And an Aberdeen man said the windshield of his 1989 Mazda was broken. The damage was estimated at $400.

* 400 block of Fountain Green Road: Theft of bike, valued at $350.

L * 600 block of Winslow Drive: Theft of bike, valued at $500.
* 3000 block of Churchville Road: Damage to driver's side door and console of 1985 Pontiac and theft of AM/FM cassette car radio. Loss estimated at $350.
EDGEWOOD
* 1700 block of Edgewood Road:Compact disks, two carrying cases and two mountain bikes were stolen. The window of a 1991 Toyota was broken, with loss estimated at $4,868.
FOREST HILL
* 100 block of Industry Lane: The theft of food from a refrigerated truck caused a loss estimated at $533.
JOPPATOWNE
* 400 block of Foster Knoll: The windshield of a 1987 Chevrolet was damaged, and the loss was estimated at $300.
