CARJACKING: Northwestern District -- A car belonging to a resident of the 7400 block of Lesada Drive in Woodlawn, Baltimore County, was stolen Tuesday night when another motorist forced the victim to stop in the 2600 block of Talbott St. after a near collision. When the victim got out of his car thinking his car had been hit, a man got out of the other vehicle and drove off with the victim's car after pointing a gun at him.

THEFT: Northwestern District -- Construction supplies and equipment, all valued at more than $1,500, was stolen between Monday and Tuesday from the back yard of a house in the 3900 block of Hillsdale Ave.

THEFT: Central District -- Someone stole the shoulder bag containing $300 and other property of a 78-year-old New Jersey woman who was smoking a cigarette on a bench near the World Trade Center in the 400 block of E. Pratt St. over the weekend.

AUTO THEFT: Central District -- A 1987 Volkswagen owned by a resident of the 1200 block of Linden Green was stolen between Monday night and Tuesday morning while parked in the 1200 block of Jordan Alley.

BURGLARY: Central District -- Someone broke into the office of an attorney in the 400 block of W. Baltimore St. Tuesday morning and stole a typewriter, telephone, calculator and a digital clock, all valued at $235.

THEFT: Central District -- A purse containing more than $300 and owned by a student at the PSI Institute of Baltimore Inc. in the 300 block of W. Lexington St. was stolen Tuesday morning when the student left it unattended in a classroom.

THEFT: Central District -- Someone entered the bedroom of a house in the 200 block of E. North Ave. over the weekend and stole $300 from a dresser drawer.

BURGLARY/ARREST: Central District -- Eric Rogers, 29, of the 2500 block of Brookfield Ave., was arrested Tuesday night and charged with breaking into the Maryland State Library for the Blind in the 400 block of Park Ave. and stealing building materials. The building is under construction. Police caught a man as he was about to leave the building with a shopping cart containing several boxes of ceiling tiles and sections of wall paneling.

THEFT/ARREST: Central District -- A 29-year-old man was arrested Tuesday and charged with shoplifting $9 worth of items from the Rite-Aid pharmacy in the 100 block of N. Howard St. Arrested by a store security officer and held for city police was Douglas McCormick, of the 1200 block of Young Court.

THEFT: Central District -- A .38-caliber revolver and $250 were stolen from a closet inside a house in the 2200 block of Guilford Ave. Tuesday.

THEFT: Central District -- A bag containing new clothing valued at $80 and $50 worth of cassette tapes were stolen Tuesday from a car while it was parked in the 300 block of W. Fayette St.

THEFT: Central District -- A vehicle owned by Artisan Floor & Carpets in the 7400 block of Harford Road was broken into in the 1200 block of Eutaw St. by someone who stole a hammer, a drill and a set of golf clubs, all valued at $2,700. Entry was gained by breaking a window.

BURGLARY/ARREST: Northeastern District -- A 32-year-old woman was arrested Monday climbing out of a window at the Greenway bowling center after hiding inside after closing time. Police responding to noises coming from the building spotted the woman. While inside, the woman attempted to open a cash register but couldn't. The suspect was taken to the women's detention center, where burglary and related charges were to have been placed against her.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Property of unknown value was stolen from a house in the 1500 block of Sheffield Ave. Monday after someone entered by force.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Someone broke into into a house in the 2200 block of Garrison Blvd. Monday afternoon and stole property valued at $900.

ROBBERY TRY/ARREST: Southwestern District -- A resident of the first block of S. Morley St. was arrested Monday afternoon and charged with attempted armed robbery of a resident of the 3900 block of Old Frederick Road while he was in the 200 block of S. Collins St. In addition to being charged with attempted armed robbery, Christopher Williams, 21, also was charged with possession of a deadly weapon and aggravated assault. Police said a BB pistol was used in the incident.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Property valued at $700 was stolen from a house in the 4500 block of Manordene Road Monday after someone entered through a kitchen window.

ASSAULT/ARREST: Northern District -- Charles Innes, 43, of the 3500 block of Elm Ave., was assaulted inside his home around 10 a.m. Tuesday by a man armed with a knife who cut the victim several times. The wounds were minor and it was not immediately known if Mr. Innes sought medical treatment. A man known to Mr. Innes was arrested and is being held at the police station pending charges of assault with intent to kill and possession of a deadly weapon.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Money and clothing, all valued at nearly $1,900, were stolen Tuesday from a house in the 1100 block of E. Northern Parkway after someone entered through a rear window.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- A telephone answering machine and cash were stolen from a house in the 2500 block of Loyola Northway Tuesday after someone gained entry by breaking a window. The property was valued at $234.

THEFT: Northern District -- A riding tractor valued at more than $13,000 was stolen from the 100 block of Melrose Ave. Monday afternoon.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone broke into an outdoor storage shed in the 2700 block of Cylburn Ave. Monday night and stole a power lawn mower valued at nearly $500.

AUTO THEFT: Northern District -- A 1991 Honda was stolen between Monday night and Tuesday morning from the 5200 block of Purlington Way.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone broke into a house in the 2800 block of N. Calvert St. Monday afternoon through a bedroom window and stole a multi-speaker portable radio and a jacket, all valued at $155.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Property of unknown value was stolen Tuesday morning after someone broke into the Belvedere Plaza Liquors in the 5600 block of The Alameda by cutting a lock off a door.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone broke into the Wesley Home in the 2200 block of Rogers Ave. over a period of several days and stole property valued at $500. Entry was gained through a basement door.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone broke through a door to a vacant apartment being renovated in the 3700 block of Old York Road and stole tools valued at nearly $200 over the weekend.

THEFT: Western District -- Someone entered a home in the 600 block of N. Carey St. Monday and stole a 13-inch TV valued at $60.

THEFT: Western District -- A 40-year-old resident of the 600 block of N. Carey St. is being sought after $50 was removed from behind a picture on a bedroom wall in the house.

THEFT: Western District -- A 14-inch gold chain, two coats and a microwave oven, all valued at nearly $1,200, were stolen Monday from a house in the 100 block of N. Poppleton St. A 23-year-old man known to the victim is being sought.

BURGLARY: Western District -- A ladder and several cans of paint, all valued at nearly $270, were stolen between Monday night and Tuesday morning by someone who broke a third-floor window to a house in the 1200 block of Edmondson Ave.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Someone broke into a house in the 2500 block of Madison Ave. Tuesday morning by forcing the front door and stole a leather jacket, VCR and stereo equipment, all valued at $1,000.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A resident of the 2000 block of N. Smallwood St. was robbed of more than $100 in food stamps Tuesday afternoon by a gunman in the 800 block of N. Pulaski St.

FALSE REPORT/ARREST: Essex District -- Michael D. Johnson, 27, of the 1400 block of Third Ave. in Middle River, was charged Tuesday with making a false police report of a carjacking. Mr. Johnson told police he was driving along Kingston Road near Eastern Boulevard at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday when he was forced to stop by two men, one armed with a gun. He reported the gunman struck him with the weapon before he was forced out of the car near the Martin Marietta plant. From there, he said, he walked home and reported the incident. The car, which was damaged, was found a short time later near the U.S. Post Office on Wilson Point Road. After investigating, police also charged him driving while intoxicated and not reporting an accident that involved striking the property of another person. Mr. Johnson was held overnight in lieu of $5,000 bail pending a bail review hearing today.

ARRESTS: White Marsh District -- Two men were arrested early today and were being held at the police station in connection with breaking into several cars on the lot of the Baltimore County Regional Health Center on Franklin Square Drive and stealing property. A car occupied by two men was stopped at 1:30 a.m. at Franklin Square Drive near Rossville Boulevard by Officer Joseph Michaels after he spotted the vehicle leaving the scene of the break-ins. In the car, Officer Michaels recovered property reported stolen from several cars on the lot. Also found was a checkbook belonging to the employer of one of the suspects.

ROBBERY: White Marsh District -- Two men, one who implied he had a handgun, robbed the Royal Farm store in the 4900 block of Hazelwood Ave. around 11 p.m. Tuesday of an undisclosed sum of money before locking two employees inside a stand-up freezer. The employees escaped without injury and called the police.

BURGLARY: White Marsh District -- A man broke into the High's dairy store in the 8200 block of Philadelphia Road around 1:15 a.m. today and stole property of unknown value. Witnesses told police they saw the man breaking into the store and then exit carrying a plastic bag. Police believe several cartons of cigarettes were stolen.

ROBBERY: Towson District -- A gunman robbed a Towson woman of her purse Tuesday afternoon as she walked to her car on the parking lot of the Giant Food store in the 6300 block of York Road. The man drove off in a small white car with license plates covered by black tape.

ROBBERY: Wilkens District -- Two men, one who implied he had a handgun, robbed the High's dairy store in the 3800 block of Hollins Ferry Road Tuesday night of an undisclosed sum of cash.

ROBBERY: Parkville District -- A Parkville-area woman was robbed of her purse containing cash and property, all valued at more than $200, Tuesday night by a gunman who blocked her car with his on the parking lot of the North Plaza Mall in the 8800 block of Waltham Woods Road.

BURGLARY: Parkville District -- Cash and several walkie-talkie radios, worth a total of nearly $2,300, were stolen from Weber's Farms in the 2500 block of Proctor Lane between Monday night and Tuesday morning after someone broke into a garage.
