Two Baltimore County employees charged last month with growing marijuana were suspended without pay yesterday by county administrative officer Merreen E. Kelly.
The action was taken after a review of grand jury indictments handed down Monday against the couple, Mr. Kelly said.
Those indictments charged Walter Patrick Kincer, 39, and his wife Jo Anne, 34, with possession of cocaine, hashish and speed.
The couple already had been charged with manufacturing and possessing marijuana.
The charges stem from a Sept. 24 search of the Kincer's home in Parkton.
Allegations involving drugs other than marijuana prompted the suspension, said Mr. Kelly.
The couple, who have an annual combined salary of more than $89,000, had remained on the payroll after their initial arrest.
Mr. Kincer is a supervisor in the county's Department of Recreation and Parks; Mrs. Kincer heads the records section of the county's personnel office.
Mr. Kelly said the Kincers could continue receiving counseling from the county's Employees Assistance Program.
