: Northern District -- Carlos Porcher, of the 900 block of N. Wolfe St., and Tysheen Stewart, an out-of-town resident, were shot and wounded in the 2700 block of Greenmount Ave. about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday. Both were taken by ambulance to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where Mr. Porcher was treated for a gunshot wound to the left thigh and Ms. Stewart for a bullet wound to the right side. Police said that they have made no arrest and added that they knew of no motive for the shootings.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Cash and a telephone, all valued at more than $100, were stolen Wednesday from a house in the 1600 block of Rogers Ave. after someone gained entry by breaking a kitchen window.

ASSAULT/ARREST: Northern District -- A resident of the 2500 block of Boarman Ave. was assaulted Wednesday afternoon outside the Robert Poole Middle School in the 1300 block of W. 36th St. by a youth who pointed a starter pistol at him. The victim, James McCoy, was leaving the school with his son when he became involved in an argument with several youths. During the argument, one of the youths pulled out a starter pistol and pointed it at Mr. McCoy. Later, one of the youths was arrested. The gun was found near some bushes and was the property of a second youth who retrieved it from his home shortly before the incident. No injuries were reported.

ASSAULT: Northern District -- Alphonso Smith of the 3000 block of Mathews St. was in the 2700 block of Mathews St. late Wednesday night when he was shot by a man he knows during an argument. The gunman escaped, and Mr. Smith was taken to Union Memorial Hospital for treatment of a grazing wound to the side.

BURGLARY: Southeastern District -- Someone broke into a house in the 1900 block of Fleet St. Wednesday by forcing the front door and stole a TV valued at $300.

THEFT: Southeastern District -- Tools valued at $600 were stolen Wednesday from a Dodge van while it was parked in the 1700 block of E. Monument St. by someone who entered by breaking one of the vehicle's windows.

ROBBERY: Southeastern District -- A man armed with a knife forced his way into a house in the 1500 block of Lester Morton Court Tuesday night when the occupant answer a knock at the door; the assailant stole a 19-inch TV valued at $300 after locking the occupant and a friend in the bathroom.

ASSAULT: Southeastern District -- A man who struck a female resident of the 400 block of N. Collington Ave. with his fists and a baseball bat during an incident at the woman's house Tuesday is being sought. The woman, the man's ex-girlfriend, was not seriously injured.

THEFT: Southeastern District -- A man walked into Tretton Opticals in the 3800 block of E. Lombard St. Monday and stole a pair of Gucci eyeglass frames from a display. The property was valued at more than $100.

THEFT: Southeastern District -- A car owned by a Pennsylvania resident was broken into Tuesday while parked in the 5300 block of Holabird Ave. by someone who stole a radar detector valued at $130.

THEFT: Southeastern District -- A police-fire department scanner valued at more than $200 was stolen Tuesday morning from a car while it was parked in the 3700 block of Fleet St.

THEFT: Southeastern District -- A large caliber handgun and $6 in coins were stolen from a car owned by a resident of the 500 block of N. Ellwood Ave. while it was parked Wednesday in the 1200 block of Young Court. Total value of the property was $756.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Tools valued at more than $600 were stolen Wednesday from a garage in the 3900 block of Southern Ave. by three teen-age boys seen fleeing the scene.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- A 29-year-old resident of the 5800 block of Arizona Ave. was robbed of $60 Wednesday morning in the 1600 block of Woodbourne Ave. by two men, one armed with a handgun.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- A man robbed a resident of the 4600 block of Roland Ave. of her multispeed bike Wednesday afternoon while she was riding it in the 1400 block of E. Belvedere Ave. The woman gave up the bike, valued at $900, when the man threatened to shoot her. No gun was revealed during the robbery.

THEFT/ARRESTS: Northeastern District -- Police arrested three teen-age boys Wednesday and charged each with entering a back yard in the 6000 block of Eunice Ave. and stealing a pellet gun.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- A 32-year-old resident of the 4000 block of Echodale Ave. was seated in his car and stopped at a red light in the 4600 block of Belair Road Wednesday night when he was approached by a man who ordered him to give up his money. The man escaped with nearly $40.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 900 block of N. Collington Ave. was inside a building in the 6400 block of Pulaski Highway Wednesday night when a woman reached into his pants pockets and stole nearly $150. Later, police arrested a 29-year-old woman and were holding her at the women's detention center at the Central District pending charges and a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner.

RAPE: Northeastern District -- A teen-age boy is being sought in connection with the rape Wednesday morning of an 11-year-old girl inside an apartment in the 4900 block of Goodnow Road.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Someone broke into an outdoor storage shed in the 4200 block of Shannon Drive between Oct. 9 and Wednesday and stole a shotgun.

ARREST: Northeastern District -- A woman was arrested Wednesday afternoon at the Kmart store in the 5100 block of Sinclair Lane when she attempted to leave the store without paying for items valued at nearly $200.

SHOOTING: Northeastern District -- Damion Cooper, 20, of the 3800 block of Lyndale Ave. is listed in stable condition at the Francis Scott Key Medical Center after being shot in the upper chest late Tuesday night by one of two men in an alley behind the 3900 block of Chesterfield Ave. Police said they knew of no motive for the shooting and had no suspects in custody.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Someone broke into a house in the 2500 block of Woodbrook Ave. between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning through a rear window and stole stereo equipment valued at $830.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Two VCRs and a purse containing money and personal items, all valued at $840, were stolen from a house in the 900 block of Harlem Ave. Thursday after someone entered by force.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A man was robbed of several pieces of jewelry by two other men, one with a knife, who jumped him in the 1600 block of W. North Ave. early Thursday.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Two men, one armed with a handgun, robbed a resident of the 900 block of N. Appleton St. of $260, a $50 watch and a beeper valued at $180 about 3 a.m. Thursday in the 1300 block of N. Fulton St.

THEFT: Central District -- A car owned by a resident of the 1600 block of Thetford Road in Baltimore County was broken into Monday while it was parked in the 100 block of W. 22nd St. Property valued at $65 was taken.

THEFT: Central District -- A 10-inch TV and a VCR were stolen Wednesday from a car parked in the 1800 block of Maryland Ave. after someone broke a vent window to get in.

ROBBERY: Central District -- A gunman robbed a resident of the 200 block of Waxter Way of $500 as he got out of his car near his home Wednesday night. The robber then used what appeared to be a walkie-talkie to contact an accomplice, who picked him up. The two sped off.

BURGLARY: Central District -- Someone broke into an apartment in the 1400 block of Madison Ave. Wednesday afternoon and stole a 19-inch TV, stereo equipment and two VCRs, all valued at $2,700.

BURGLARY: Central District -- Two out-of-town residents staying the Ramada Inn in the first block of N. Howard St. were robbed of their jewelry and cash Wednesday between noon and 10 p.m. by someone who entered their room, possibly with a key. The property was valued at nearly $1,200.

THEFT: Central District -- Three stereo speakers were stolen Wednesday night or early Thursday from a car owned by an out-of-town resident while it was parked in the 1600 block of Brevard St. Entry was by breaking a rear window.

THEFT: Central District -- Golf equipment valued at more than $900 was stolen from the trunk of an out-of-town resident's car in the 100 block of W. 22nd St. Wednesday night.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone got into a house in the 2500 block of Guilford Ave. through an open window Tuesday and stole a TV, VCR, power and hand tools, a bike, vacuum cleaner, compact disc player, discs, jewelry and other items, all valued at nearly $9,700.

THEFT: Northern District -- Someone entered the front porch of a house in the 700 block of Melville Ave. Wednesday morning and stole furniture valued at more than $1,000.

BURGLARY/ARREST: Northern District -- Police arrested a homeless man Wednesday morning after responding to a burglary at Mariner Health Care in the 2700 block of N. Charles St. The man was arrested on the premises after he placed several pieces of property on a rear loading dock. The building is undergoing renovation. The man was expected to be charged with burglary.

BURGLARY TRY: Northern District -- Someone attempted to break into the Boy Scouts of America building in the 700 block of Wyman Park Drive Wednesday morning after breaking a window but fled when the burglar alarm went off.

THEFT: Northern District -- Lawn-care equipment valued at nearly $700 was stolen Wednesday from in front of a house in the 5600 block of Enderly Road.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A man walking in the 600 block of Gorsuch Ave. about 11 a.m. Wednesday was attacked by a man who robbed him of his money and keys.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A man stole a purse containing cash and property, all valued at nearly $30, of a woman waiting for a bus in the 4700 block of Falls Road Wednesday afternoon.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone broke into a house in the 5500 block of Lothian Road Tuesday and Wednesday by forcing the front door and stole a stove valued at $350.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- A multispeed bike was stolen from a garage in the 2900 block of St. Paul St. Wednesday afternoon after someone used a blunt instrument to break a lock.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- A bike valued at $300 was stolen Tuesday from a garage in the first block of Wendover Road.

THEFT: Southeastern District -- Someone entered Francie's restaurant in the 1600 block of Thames St. last week through an open door and stole a brass gold fish valued at nearly $200.

THEFT: Southeastern District -- A model ship valued at $2,000 was stolen last week after someone entered a building in the 1600 block of Thames St.

ROBBERY: Southeastern District -- A woman walking in the 2100 block of E. Monument St. Wednesday afternoon was robbed by a man of of nearly $100 in food stamps.

BURGLARY/ARREST: Southeastern District -- Police arrested a man Wednesday and were holding him at the station pending charges that he broke into a house in the 100 block of N. Duncan St. and stole property valued at more than $600. The man was arrested after police received information about someone seen leaving the house shortly before the occupant returned home.

THEFT: Southeastern District -- A trombone was stolen Tuesday night or Wednesday morning from a car parked in the 3600 block of Esther Place. The car's driver-side front door was forced open.

THEFT: Southeastern District -- Someone broke into a car owned by a resident of the 4700 block of Eldone Road Wednesday while it was parked in the 400 block of N. Wolfe St. and stole property valued at $100.

ROBBERY: Southeastern District -- A resident of the 1200 block of E. Lombard St. was robbed of $10 Tuesday night by a man who struck her with his fists as she walked in the first block of N. Caroline St.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- A 67-year-old resident of the 3500 block of Lydonlea Way was walking near his home late Wednesday morning after cashing a check when he was assaulted by two youths who robbed him of $1,035.

AUTO THEFT: Northeastern District -- A 1984 Nissan owned by a resident of the 5300 block of Midwood Ave. was stolen Tuesday night while parked in the 3400 block of Erdman Ave.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Jewelry, cassette tapes and watch were stolen Wednesday from a home in the 3400 block of Chesterfield Ave. after someone entered by forcing the front door.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- While the 68-year-old resident of an apartment in the 1100 block of Gorsuch Ave. was in the bathroom Wednesday afternoon, someone entered through the front door and stole a TV valued at $250.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- A 1988 Kawasaki motorcycle owned by a resident of the 4200 block of Ray Mar Ave. was stolen Wednesday from the 5600 block of Plainfield Ave.

ROBBERY/ARRESTS: Northeastern District -- A 31-year-old resident of the 5300 block of Goodnow Road was walking in the 5900 block of Frankford Ave. Wednesday evening when she was robbed by three youths, one with a handgun, of $25. Later, police arrested three 17-year-olds, who were being held at the station pending charges.

Baltimore County

ARRESTS: Essex District -- Four Baltimore men were arrested early Thursday morning and were being held at the police station pending charges they stole a portable dog kennel from Safety Fence in the 9300 block of Pulaski Highway. The men were stopped while driving a legally rented U-Haul truck near the city line after police received an anonymous tip.

BURGLARY: Cockeysville District -- Someone broke into the clubhouse at the Longview golf course in the first block of Cardigan Road in Timonium between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning by forcing a door. Nothing appeared missing, but damage to the door and frame was estimated at $200.

SHOTS FIRED: Towson District -- Someone fired a handgun in the first block of Meteor Court about 10 p.m. Wednesday, sending at least one bullet into a nearby townhouse. No one in the house was injured and police had no motive for the incident.

BANK ROBBERY: Cockeysville District -- A man who implied he was armed with a handgun entered the Signet Bank in the 9000 block of York Road at 1 p.m. Wednesday and ordered a teller to give him money from her cash drawer. After he was given an undisclosed sum, the man walked out of the bank and was seen walking south on York Road.

ROBBERY: Garrison District -- A gunman wearing a red jacket, hat and dark pants robbed the Crib & Cradle shop in the 8600 block of Liberty Road about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday and escaped with an undisclosed sum.

BURGLARY: Wilkens District -- Someone broke into an apartment in the first block of Fredonia Court Tuesday night or Wednesday morning through a side window and stole stereo equipment valued at $600.

BURGLARY: Wilkens District -- A man was scared away after breaking into a house in the 700 block of Rambo Court Wednesday night when the occupant walked downstairs and caught him attempting to steal property. Entry was gained through a rear door.
