Four are injured in four separate shooting incidents

Four people suffered minor injuries in separate shooting Friday night and early yesterday, including two men shot in the same block at the same time in West Baltimore.

At 10:20 p.m. Friday in the first block of North Carrolton St., Willie Harris, 26, of the 1000 block of West Lexington St. heard shots and ran into a store, only to find he had been shot in the upper right thigh, he told police. He was taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center and was in satisfactory condition yesterday.

At 1 a.m. yesterday, two men were shot in apparently separate incidents, both in the 800 block of West Lanvale St., police said. Michael Miller, 33, of the 1000 block of West Lanvale St. told police several men in a gray car drove up to him while he was standing on the curb and demanded cocaine from him. One of the men then fired a shot, he said, hitting him in the wrist. Mr. Miller was taken to the University of Maryland Medical Center, where he was in satisfactory condition.

About the same time, James Evans, 39, of the 2600 block of Edmondson Ave. told police he was walking in the same block when he was hit in the left wrist and left side of his head by a shotgun blast. He was in stable condition at Bon Secours Hospital.

Ronald Bailey, 29, of the 2400 block of Joseph Ave. told police he was outside his house at 3:40 a.m. yesterday when he heard shots and felt a sting in his left leg. He ran in the house and found he had been wounded. He was taken to Harbor Hospital Center and was reported in satisfactory condition yesterday.
