Westminster High plans homecoming activities
Westminster High School is planning a week of homecoming activities the week of Oct. 12, including College Sweatshirt and Hat Day, Christmas in October Day, Stripes and Dots Day, Blue and White Day and Class Color Day.
Each class will decorate its homeroom as part of the Spirit Week activities.
The Homecoming Parade begins at 7 p.m. Oct. 15 on Main Street followed by a Powder Puff football game. On Friday afternoon, the Homecoming King will be announced at a pep rally with the Queen crowned Friday night at half-time during the football game.
A semi-formal Homecoming Dance, with a theme of a Caribbean cruise, will be held 8-11 p.m. Saturday at the high school. Admission is by ticket only and limited to current students and alumni.

Westminster student is on dean's list
Adam Rhodes Bare, the son of Dave and Kathy Bare of Westminster, has been put on the dean's list at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.
Mr. Bare is studying mechanical engineering as part of the school's Junior Year Abroad Program at the
University of Leeds in England. He is a 1990 graduate of the McDonogh School, Baltimore County.
POLICE
* Westminster: A 36-foot high window at the East Middle School on Longwell Avenue was broken on Saturday night, Westminster City Police reported. The loss is estimated at $20.
In the latest of a series of vending machine vandalism, two soda machines at the front of Kmart on Englar Road were damaged Sunday night. The total loss is unknown.
Guilherme Valladares told police his bicycle was damaged while parked in front of Blanch Ward Hall on the campus of Western Maryland College Tuesday. The loss is estimated at $70.
FIRE
* Westminster: Westminster and Reese responded to a reported house fire on Baltimore Blvd. at 9:55 a.m. Wednesday. Units were out for five minutes.
