Man, 49, charged with theft of meat
County police have charged a Baltimore man with stealing several packages of meat from the Farm Fresh store in the first block of Hammonds Lane on Tuesday.
Police said yesterday that Walter Krause, an employee, chased the man from the store to a car driven by a woman. Mr. Krause grabbed the man's arm as he got into the car and began rolling up the window. But the woman refused to drive away because Mr. Krause still clutched the man's arm.
The man fled from the car and jumped into a nearby trash bin, where police found him.
Charles Norfolk, 49, of the 3700 block of Second St. was taken to Northern District station and charged.
