SHOOTING: Southwestern District -- Two 17-year-olds were shot shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday by one of three men in the 3400 block of Clifton Ave. Shot in the chest and taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center was Nathaniel Scott, of the 2600 block of Springhill Ave. Shot in the arm and taken to Sinai Hospital was Corey Bowman, of the 3300 block of Elgin Ave. Their conditions were not known. The victims were shot when one of three men came out of an alley and opened fire. Police said they knew of no motive for the shooting.
SHOOTING: Northeastern District -- Anthony P. Atkins, of the 1600 block of E. 25th St., was listed in poor condition at Union Memorial Hospital after being shot in the lower back early Wednesday in the 2700 block of The Alameda. Police said they knew of no motive for the shooting and said they had no suspect in custody.
ARREST: Central District -- Police said a man was arrested Tuesday night and charged with an attempted armed robbery on North Charles Street after an officer saw an incident on the street. Officer Joseph Zebec was leaving a restaurant in the 1200 block of N. Charles St. at 7:40 p.m. when he saw a gunman attempting to rob another man. Officer Zebec approached, pulled out his handgun and ordered the man to drop his gun. When the gunman refused and pointed his gun at the policeman, authorities said, Officer Zebec again warned the man he would shoot. The gunman ran and was chased for two blocks before police caught him at Preston and Morton streets. On the man, police found a loaded, cocked .32-caliber revolver. Police said David Brown, 24, of the 1500 block of Carswell St., also was charged with assault by pointing a handgun at Officer Zebec.
ARRESTS: Southeastern District -- Two men were arrested about 10 p.m. Wednesday by city housing police who came upon them dealing drugs at the Flag House Courts high-rise housing project in the first block of S. Exeter St. One of the men reportedly was armed with a handgun. No injuries were reported, and both men were being held at the Southeastern District station pending drug and weapons charges.
THEFT: Central District -- Someone entered a house in the 1900 block of Etting St. Tuesday and stole two TVs valued at $840. A man known by the owner of the property is being sought.
THEFT: Central District -- A back pack and shoes valued at nearly $200 were stolen from a 1992 Nissan Sentra parked in the 200 block of Park Ave.
ROBBERY: Central District -- A woman was robbed of $577 in the 1600 block of Jordan St. Monday night by a man who approached her from the rear and placed a hard object in her back. Shortly before the robbery, the woman had cashed a check.
BURGLARY: Central District -- Someone broke through the front door of a house in the 2200 block of Brookfield Ave. early Wednesday morning and stole a TV and a VCR, all valued at nearly $600.
THEFT/ARREST: Central District -- A 33-year-old woman was arrested Wednesday afternoon on charges of stealing a $30 musical Teddy bear from Embraceable Zoo, a stuffed-toy store in the Pratt Street Pavilion at Harborplace. Charged and held at the Women's Detention Center pending a bail hearing is Tanya Norris, of the 900 block of N. Arlington Ave.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone broke into a house in the 800 block of W. 35th St. Tuesday by forcing the basement door and stole a rip saw, electric drills, a cutting torch and other tools, all valued at nearly $500.
THEFT: Northeastern District -- Two electric saws valued at $400 were stolen from a 1986 Chevrolet truck Tuesday while the vehicle was parked in the 3600 block of Kenyon Ave. The truck was entered by forcing one of its doors.
BURGLARY: Northwestern District -- Someone knocked a hole in a wall from an adjoining vacant house into Hoffman's liquors in the 4400 block of Park Heights Ave. early Wednesday morning and stole $134.
BURGLARY: Northwestern District -- A VCR, TV and a cash register, all valued at nearly $2,900, were stolen from Gaylord's Unisex Salon in the 3300 block of Ayrdale Ave. between Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning by someone who entered through a side window.
ROBBERY: Parkville District -- Two men, one who implied he had a gun, robbed the Star Light Chinese carry-out in the 2500 block of Cleanleigh Drive Wednesday night of a cash register containing an unknown sum.
THEFT/ARREST: Wilkens District -- A man and a teen-age boy were arrested early Thursday and were to be charged with stealing property valued at $500 from the front porch of a house in the first block of Ingate Terrace. The two were arrested by Officer John Allen, who spotted a rental truck being driven near the scene of the theft. Officer Allen said a large truck was suspected of being used in similar thefts over the past several days. In the truck Officer Allen found a baby stroller and a set of golf clubs that had been reported stolen.
THEFT/ARREST: Wilkens District -- A 22-year-old employee of the Crown service station in the 6000 block Baltimore National Pike was arrested outside a telephone booth at Lombard and Light streets in the city early Thursday and was to be charged with stealing $800 from the station while he was on duty. Officer Henry Caldarazzo said the man was recently released from a drug rehab center and reportedly spent the money on alcohol and drugs after he walked off the job Wednesday night. The man telephoned police from the downtown intersection and surrendered without incident.
BURGLARY: White Marsh District -- Someone entered the garage at a house in the 5800 block of Hazelwood Ave. between Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning and stole a 1987 Lincoln. The car was stolen after the intruder found its keys in the ash tray.
ROBBERY: Towson District -- A Hillendale-area woman was robbed of her jacket, gold chain and cash about 9 p.m. Wednesday by two men, one of whom implied he had a pistol. The men had jumped out from behind several bushes as the woman walked on Loch Raven Boulevard near Sayward Road.
THEFT: Fallston -- Someone broke into a fruit and vegetable stand in the 2900 block of Bel Air Road between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning and stole two boxes of tomatoes, a watermelon and a half-bushel of apples, all worth $142.
ROBBERY: Joppatowne -- A man robbed the Gunpowder Cove Mobil service station in the 1700 block of Joppa Farm Road of $125 late Tuesday night, ordering an employee to give him the contents of the cash register while keeping one hand in his jacket pocket as though he was armed.
