Howard man sentenced for role in local robberies

A 40-year-old Howard County man was sentenced Tuesday to 20 years in prison for his role in a series of robberies in Glen Burnie last winter.

Judge Bruce C. Williams ordered the sentence after Bobby Gene Geddings Jr., of the 7400 block of Hawkins Drive, Hanover, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit armed robbery and robbery in Anne Arundel County Circuit Court.

Geddings admitted to robbing two High's Dairy stores in Glen Burnie and one in the 7800 block of Telegraph Road in Severn with an accomplice during the third week of February.

His accomplice, Charles Patrick Cobb, 22, of the 2600 block of Rittenhouse Road, Baltimore, pleaded guilty July 23 to two counts of robbery and was sentenced Sept. 5 to seven years in prison.

Traffic stop results in cocaine arrest

A Glen Burnie man was charged Tuesday with possession of cocaine after police found the drug in his car during a traffic stop Tuesday on Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard and Kuethe Road.

According to the police report, officers stopped James A. Crawford, of the 700 block of Marley Ave., when they saw him sitting in his car in the median strip on Route 648. After searching his car, police said they confiscated a small bag with cocaine in it and $231.
