Five men are suing a Florida company that operated midway rides at this year's Howard County Fair for unpaid wages.
The workers are seeking a total of nearly $90,000 in wages and damages from Goodings Million Dollar Midway Inc., according to a suit filed in Howard Circuit Court on Sept. 29.
Goodings, of Tallahassee, Fla., operated at least 10 rides, such as the Crazy Dance, Devil's Joy Ride and Moon Bounce, during the annual fair at the Howard County Fairgrounds in August, the suit says.
Representatives of Goodings could not be reached for comment.
The suit lists the plaintiffs as Billy Curl of Sioux City, Iowa; John Foote of Wimauma, Fla.; Jeremy Poole of Columbus, Ohio; and Donald Shortt and Tony Shortt, both of St. Petersburg, Fla.
Donald Shortt is seeking $5,057 in wages, $3,050 in attorney fees and $14,940 in damages; Mr. Curl is seeking $8,982 in wages, $3,500 in attorney fees and $7,375 in damages; Tony Shortt is seeking $3,719 in wages, $2,250 in attorney fees and $11,157 in damages; Mr. Poole is seeking $3,378 in wages, $2,000 in attorney fees and $10,136 in damages; and Mr. Foote is seeking $3,096 in wages, $1,500 in attorney fees and $9,288 in damages.
The men are being represented by attorney Robert Sharkey of Baltimore.
