St. Mark's Church in Hampstead builds additions NORTH

The sounds of hammering can be heard at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church on Main Street in Hampstead as a construction crew builds two additions to the facility.

On the north side of the church is a two-story addition with new Sunday school rooms downstairs and space that can be used as Sunday school rooms or overflow for the sanctuary upstairs.

On the east side of the church will be more Sunday school rooms upstairs and overflow space for the social hall downstairs. Restrooms and a new entry are also being built. Air conditioning is being added to the sanctuary and both additions.

Construction should be finished at the end of November, said Herb Wessel, a member of the building committee, and a dedication is planned for late November or early December.
