Sept. 30: Maryland Fly Anglers will meet at 7:30 p.m. at the Ridge Garden Apartments club house, Old Harford Road and Putty Hill Avenue. John Capowski is to speak about the limestone streams of south central Pennsylvania. The public is welcome.

Sept. 30 and Oct. 3: Citizen participation work groups to assist in the preparation of a management plan for Big Hunting Creek in Frederick County. The project is sponsored by the Department of Natural Resources, Cunningham Falls State Park and Catoctin Mountain National Park, from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. each day at American Legion, 8 Park Lane, Thurmont.

Oct. 7: Free State Fly Fishers will meet at 7:30 p.m., at Hillsmere Elementary School, Annapolis. Don Benson will speak on fishing the upper Delaware River.


Oct. 10-11: Annual Bethany-Fenwick Surf Fishing Tournament will be headquartered at the Delaware National Guard camp in Bethany Beach, Del. Cash prizes for adults and merchandise for youth class winners.

Nov. 2: Free State Fly Fishers will meet at 7:30 p.m., at Hillsmere Elementary School, Annapolis. David Rickenbocker is to speak on fishing in New Zealand.

Nov. 13-15: Mid-Atlantic Council of the Federation of Fly Fishermen conclave at the Venice Inn in Hagerstown.
