Coach's outlook: "We don't have a lot of size or a lot of depth. We're not going to [over]power you. We're going to finesse you. If I can keep my best 15 or 16 kids healthy, we should win more games than last year. This is the best crew I've had since I've been at Howard. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I'm hoping we can sneak up on people."
Howard County Sun outlook: That will be difficult. Smith and Wise turned into an excellent backfield team last year, rushing for about 1,200 yards between them. And Howard's speed doesn't end there. But if the Lions are going to give Quinn his first winning season, they need marked improvement from Stubbs and some overachievement from lines that lack size.
