Baltimore man is killed by gunfire


A northeast Baltimore man was fatally shot while on the front porch of his house in the 2700 block of Tivoly Ave. last night, police said.

Vince Wilkerson, who was in his 30s, was discovered about 9:20 p.m. lying on the porch with a gunshot wound to his left side. A 65-year-old woman who also lives in the house found the victim, police said.

Mr. Wilkerson was taken to the Maryland Shock-Trauma Center, where he died today about 2:15 a.m., police said. Police do not know of any suspects or motives.

In another shooting last night, two people were wounded while sitting on the front steps of an East Baltimore house, police said.

The shooting occurred in the 1000 block of E. Hoffman St. about 11:15 p.m., police said. Christopher Murray, 32, of the first block of Dauber Court in Baltimore County, and Brian Knox, 16, of the 5000 block of Lodestone Way, are in good condition at the Maryland Shock-Trauma Center, police said.
