Woodbine landscaper gets new members
Chapel Valley Landscape of Woodbine announced that two new members have joined its offices.
Tom Nugent will work in the Residential Branch as landscape designer/marketing representative. A Certified Professional Horticulturist, Nugent graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in landscape architecture.
Scott Scarfone is a marketing representative for the Maryland Landscape Branch. He graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in landscape architecture and geography/urban planning.
Bert Black, Chairman of Weinberg and Green's Environmental Practice Group, has been appointed to the National Conference of Lawyers and Scientists, a group formed by the American Bar Association and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
Mr. Black, who earned a master's of science in civil engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and his law degree from Yale Law School, concentrates on environmental regulatory matters, superfund litigation and the environmental aspects of corporate transactions.
Solonche picked for leadership work
Florence Solonche, president and proprietor of her certified public accounting firm in Ellicott City, was selected to participate in the 1992-93 Leadership Howard County program that recruits individuals interested in community service and influencing policy in the county.
Ms. Solonche is co-president of the Ellicott City Hadassah and serves as a consultant to the Business Women's Network of Howard County.
FIRN elects board officers
The Foreign-born Information and Referral Network (FIRN) has elected the following as Board officers for the 1992-93 year: Carol Spangler, president; Robert Obst, vice president; Christine Alexander, secretary and Catherine W. Sutton, treasurer.
Columbia Bank makes 3 promotions
The Columbia Bank has promoted three staff members to new positions.
Jeff Harris has been named Vice President of Retail Banking. He is now responsible for the management, marketing and oversight of branch operations and consumer lending.
Bonnie C. Hanson is now Manager, Residential Mortgage Productions.
Margaret M. Kinsey was promoted to Manager, Mortgage Administration. Hanson and Kinsey's promotions consolidates the leadership of the bank's mortgage programs.
Ms. Hanson, formerly a mortgage analyst, will now oversee the origination and processing of all mortgage loan applications and will coordinate bank-investor relations.
Ms. Kinsey, who has been with The Columbia Bank for three years, will direct the settlements, shipments, servicing and compliance of mortgage loans.
