Chartwell tourney's winners recognized

Ann Gillespie, Jean Dixon and Colette Mesich took two out of three categories in the "A", "C" and "E" flights, respectively, of Wednesday's Chartwell Golf and Country Club Regular Play Tournament.

Gillespie scored a 77 and a 31 for lowest net and putts scores, respectively, in "A." Shirley McCoy was the top golfer in the low gross category of the A Flight, scoring a 90.

Marilyn Fiertz netted a low gross score of 95 in "B" Flight play, as Marcy Specht and Cayo Hales registered a 77 and a 31 for low net and putts scores, respectively.

Dixon posted low gross and putts scores of 107 and 33, respectively, in the "C" Flight, while Rita Flahive tallied an 84 for low net.

Judy White's 106 led all "D" Flight low gross scores, while Ange Ploussard and Vi Gambrill had low net and putts scores of 81 and 34, respectively.

Rosemarie Deval shot a 118 for low gross in the "E" Flight, as

Mesich collected an 82 and a 32 for low net and putts, respectively.

Specht (hole 3), Mesich and Doris Yount (both at hole 1) recorded a greenie apiece.

Tourney to benefit Omni House Inc.

Omni House Inc. will sponsor a golf tournament Sept. 14 at Bay Hills Golf Club in Arnold.

Tournament fee is $65 per golfer, which includes a continental breakfast and luncheon.

Proceeds will be donated to Omni House, a community rehabilitation program for the county's chronically mentally ill.

Bruin benefit tourney scheduled for Oct. 5

The fourth annual Bruin Golf Tournament to benefit the Broadneck High Athletic Boosters Club will take place Monday, Oct. 5, at Bay Hills Golf Club in Arnold.

The cost of $75 per golfer includes continental breakfast, cart and greens fees, beverages, and a crab feast and prize ceremony at the Blue Channel Inn.

Non-golfers may attend the crab feast for $35 and hole sponsors are available for $100.
