Man gets six years in spitting incident

THE BALTIMORE SUN

ANNAPOLIS -- A judge sentenced a man to six years in prison hTC for spitting in the face of a restaurant manager.

Anne Arundel County Circuit Judge Lawrence H. Rushworth said he exceeded sentencing guidelines Wednesday because Jeffrey B. Anderson, 31, has spent more than a decade violating the law.

Anderson was convicted last month of trespass and battery for returning to the Glen Burnie restaurant on Oct. 21, 1991, and spitting in the face of Mike Fratantuono after being told hours earlier to stay away.

"It may have been that you were doing a life sentence 30 days at a time, but you've reached the point where the court has to put an end to it," the judge said during sentencing.
