ROBBERY: Southern District -- A resident of the 2600 block of Huron St. was riding his bicycle in the 2600 block of S. Paca St. when a man knocked him off the bike and rode away. Later, police arrested a suspect and were holding him at the station pending formal charges and a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner. The victim was not injured.
CUTTING: Southern District -- Police today were seeking a man who cut a woman in the neck with a broken bottle last night during an argument. Police said the victim, of the 1600 block of Church St., was arguing with a man she knows in the 1500 block of Elmtree St. around 7 p.m. when the man picked up a broken bottle and cut her on the neck. Police said the man fled and the woman was treated at Harbor Hospital Center and released.
ROBBERY: Western District -- An employee of the United Insurance Co. of America in the 3100 block of Timanus Lane, Woodlawn, was in the 2800 block of Mosher St. when he was accosted by a man armed with a handgun who demanded his money. Police said the victim gave up an undisclosed sum of cash to the gunman, who escaped on foot.
ROBBERY: Western District -- A resident of the 3000 block of Belmont Ave. told police she was walking in the 1300 block of W. North Ave. when she was stopped by two men, one armed with a handgun, who demanded her purse. Police said the woman gave the gunman her purse, which contained $40. Police said the pair escaped on foot.
ROBBERY/ARREST: Western District -- Police arrested a 22-year-old man yesterday and charged him with the armed robbery on Aug. 10 of a man in the 1800 block of N. Fulton Ave. Police said the victim, a resident of the 1900 block of Herbert St., was stopped by three men, one armed with a handgun, who robbed him of a gold chain valued at $11. Police arrested Robert Myers, of the 1800 of Lorman St., and charged him with armed robbery and using a handgun in the commission of a felony. Police said Mr. Myers was being held at the station on $20,000 bail and two other men are being sought.
ROBBERY: Western District -- A man walking in the 800 block of W. Baltimore St. was stopped by two men, one armed with a handgun, who ordered him to give up his money. Police said the victim, a resident of the 1600 block of Cantwell Road in western Baltimore County, gave up his wallet containing personal papers and $6 to the men, who fled on foot.
BURGLARY: Western District -- A resident of the 1800 block of Arunah Ave. reported someone forced their way into his home Monday night or yesterday morning and stole a video game, several tape cartridges and a leather coat. Police said the property was valued at more than $500 and that entry was gained through the front window.
ROBBERY: Western District -- Two men, one armed with a handgun, robbed a nightclub in the 1000 block of N. Payson St. of an undisclosed sum of cash. Police said the men, both in their late teens or early 20s, walked into the club and ordered an employee to give them the contents of a cash register.
BURGLARY: Western District -- A resident of the 2200 block of W. Saratoga St. reported that someone broke into her home by forcing a rear door and stole a TV set. Police said the property was valued at more than $600.
BURGLARY: Western District -- Police said property valued at nearly $200 was stolen from a dwelling in the 1400 block of N. Fulton Ave. after someone gained entry through a rear door. Police said a TV set was stolen.
ROBBERY: Western District -- A resident of the 1100 block of E. 20th St. reported he was walking in the 2400 block of Pennsylvania Ave. when he was stopped by two men, one armed with a handgun, who demanded his money. Police said the victim gave the gunman and his accomplice about $10.
BURGLARY: Western District -- Several pieces of property were stolen from a house in the 1800 block of Presstman St. after someone gained entry through a rear door. Police said household appliances, stereo equipment and a TV set were taken.
ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- A 40-year-old resident of the 1700 block of Winford Road was walking near his home when he was accosted by two men, one armed with a handgun, who demanded his money. Police said the victim gave $80 to the gunman.
BURGLARY TRY: Northeastern District -- Police reported that someone attempted to break into the Greenway Bowling Lanes in the 6700 block of Moravia Park Drive but fled when a burglar alarm went off.
THEFT: Northeastern District -- Employees of Zipp Express in the 6300 block of Erdman Ave. reported someone broke into a trailer parked on their property and stole an electric range. Police said the appliance was valued at $500.
SCHOOL BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone removed a board that covered a window and broke into the Greenspring Middle School in the 4700 block of Greenspring Ave. A TV set valued at $300 was taken, police said.
THEFT: Northern District -- A resident of the 4200 block of Falls Road reported that while he was inside Union Memorial Hospital in the 200 block of E. University Parkway someone stole his bicycle parked outside. Police said the bike was valued at $400.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone forced their way into an apartment in the first block of E. 33rd St. yesterday and stole property valued at more than $1,100. The occupant told police the intruder escaped with a watch, stereo equipment, a VCR and a camera.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- An iron and a money order were stolen yesterday by someone who entered a house in the 900 block of Argonne Drive. Police said it appeared a key was used to enter the dwelling and that the property was valued at more than $200.
ROBBERY: Northern District -- Employees of Jiffy Lube in the 2900 block of Mathews St. reported a man entered the business around 6:30 p.m. yesterday and forced the manager to open the office safe. Police said the man, who was unarmed, fled with several hundred dollars.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- More than $2,000 worth of jewelry was stolen yesterday after someone broke into an apartment in the 1800 block of Weldon Place South. Police said entry was through a window.
THEFT: Northern District -- A resident of the 100 block of W. 38th St. reported that while his van was parked in the 4000 block of Linkwood Road yesterday someone broke into the vehicle and stole three bicycles. Police said the bikes had a total value of nearly $1,500.
ASSAULT: Southern District -- A resident of the 600 block of Ross Drive in Pasadena reported that in the 800 block of Herndon Court he was attacked by a man who struck him over the head with a length of wood. Police said the victim sustained a scalp cut. No arrest had been made.
MURDER TRY: Essex District -- Police today were seeking a man known as "New York Mike" in the attempted murder of a 20-year-old man last night. The victim was listed in serious condition today at the Maryland Shock-Trauma Center after being struck several times with a hammer during an argument over money. Police responding to a report of an injured man inside an apartment in the 1600 block of Rickenbacker Road shortly before 7 p.m. yesterday found the victim, Wayne Johnson, of that address, nearly unconscious and bleeding from multiple blows to the head from a hammer. A carpenter's hammer, believed to be the weapon, was recovered. Police said Mr. Johnson, who also sustained serious shoulder and hand injuries, was flown by a State Police Med-Evac helicopter to Shock-Trauma. Police said a warrant was expected to be issued for the arrest of the suspect, a 24-year-old man.
BURGLARY: White Marsh District -- Police reported someone broke into Comfort Heating and Cooling in the 9800 block of Belair Road over the weekend and stole property valued at more than $4,000.
ROBBERY: White Marsh District -- A resident of the 2000 block of Wintergreen Place reported she was getting out of her car in the 8600 block of Belair Road when she was attacked from behind by a man armed with a knife. The woman told police the man shoved her back inside the car and stole her purse, coat and a radar detector before fleeing. Police said the woman was not injured and that the property taken in the robbery was valued at more than $800.
THEFT: Westminster -- An employee of an electrical construction and supply firm told police that someone trespassed onto a construction site on Woodward Drive and stole rolls of wire. Police said the wire was valued at $3,000.
