Taneytown will host Dodgers Showdown tomorrow

It was three years ago when the Taneytown Cardinals ended the Littlestown Dodgers' 12-year dynasty as "kings" of the South Penn League.

Since then, the Cardinals have ruled the roost in the SPL with two straight titles and, at 32-4 this season, seeming geared to a third one.

It only seems fitting that the last team in the Cardinals' way is Littlestown.

The Cardinals will host Littlestown at 7 p.m. tomorrow in the opening game of the best-of-five championship series.

Both teams are coming off impressive semifinal sweeps over the weekend. The Cardinals defeated Thurmont, 15-3, on Saturday. The Dodgers (24-12) ousted Cashtown, 11-1.
