2 men held in child's death

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Homicide detectives were questioning two men last night in connection with the strangulation death of Ebony Scott, a 9-year-old New York City girl whose body was found Thursday in a trash bin outside Baltimore's George B. Murphy Homes.

Sgt. Steven Lehmann of the homicide unit said neither man had been charged with any crime.

"We received information about the men and obtained a search and seizure for an apartment on the 13th floor of the [Murphy Homes high-rise] building and went in," Sergeant Lehmann said. He would not describe items police took from the premises.

One of the men, a resident of the apartment, ran when he saw police outside his door, but was captured.
