Here's what to look for if you...


Here's what to look for if you are traveling in the Baltimore metropolitan area this week. This list of highway projects includes only newly announced work, not continuing construction, which is extensive on several highways.

New highway projects

I-95, from Route 175 to Van Dusen Road, in Howard and Prince George's counties -- Single lane closures may occur any time except Fridays, noon to 10 p.m. Two lanes may be closed only from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 p.m. to Friday until 5 a.m. Monday. This construction will include concrete patching and partial resurfacing, installation of new guardrails and drainage improvements.

West Ring Factory Road, between Route 924 and Route 24, south of Bel Air -- Will be closed to traffic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning tomorrow and continuing Monday through Friday for reconstruction through February. Motorists are urged to use Bel Air South Parkway.

Bus route changes:

The MTA has scheduled the following bus route changes for this week. Information: 539-5000; TTY for the hearing-impaired, 539-3497.

No. 30

On Saturday between noon and 6 p.m., Edmondson Avenue between Schroeder Street and Fremont Avenue will be closed to all traffic for the Providence Inspirational Baptist Church Bazaar necessitating the following route change: Eastbound via regular route northbound on Schroeder Street to Edmondson Avenue, north on Schroeder, east on Harlem Avenue and north on Fremont Avenue via regular route. Southbound via regular route on Fremont Avenue to Harlem Avenue, west on Harlem Avenue, south on Schroeder Street to Edmondson Avenue, then via regular route.

Route change

No. 150 -- Until further notice, the route of westbound buses has been changed because of construction on Saratoga Street. Buses will temporarily travel the regular route northbound on Eutaw Street to Saratoga, north on Eutaw, west on Franklin Street, west on the Interstate 170 Expressway, then via regular route.
