SHOOTING: Western District -- A resident of the 1400 block of Franklin St. was listed in good condition today at Bon Secours Hospital after he was shot during a confrontation with three men in the 1300 block of W. Saratoga St. early yesterday. Police said the victim was in the 1300 block of W. Saratoga St. around 12:20 a.m. when he was approached by three men, one armed with a handgun. Police said the gunman fired one shot, striking the victim in the left arm.

BURGLARY: Western District -- A Carroll County resident told police that someone broke into a house he owns in the 500 block of N. Arlington Ave. between July 31 and yesterday and stole hand and power tools, all valued at $200.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Employees of the J & L Roofing Co. in the 1100 block of N. Monroe St. reported that someone broke into a house in the 2100 block of Clifton Ave. between Wednesday and yesterday while they were off the job and stole roofing material valued at nearly $900. Police said the house was entered through the door of an adjoining garage.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A resident of the 300 block of Ridgeville Road reported he was in the 1900 block of N. Bentalou St. yesterday afternoon when he was stopped by a man armed with a small caliber handgun who demanded his wallet. Police said the gunman took an undisclosed sum of cash.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Police said two men, one armed with a handgun, entered Westend Liquors in the 1500 block of W. Baltimore St. around 4 p.m. yesterday and ordered an employee to give up money from the cash register. After taking more than $100, the gunman and his accomplice went behind the counter and stole a handgun and several state Lottery tickets.

BURGLARY: Western District -- A resident of the 1500 block of N. Fulton Ave. reported that property valued at $200 was stolen from her home yesterday afternoon after someone gained entry through a door. Police said the burglar stole two telephones and an answering machine.

ASSAULT/ARRESTS: Western District -- Police arrested two men and were seeking three others in the aggravated assault of a man in the 2000 block of Presstman St. Police said the victim was near his home around 7 p.m. yesterday when he was attacked by five men, one armed with a baseball bat. The man with the bat struck the victim several times, causing minor injuries. Later, police arrested Anthony Washington, 20, of the 1500 block of N. Appleton St., and Qasim Thomas, 18, of the 2000 block of N. Fulton Ave., and charged them each with aggravated assault. Police said Mr. Washington also was charged with possession of a deadly weapon and Mr. Thomas with a handgun violation. Police said both men were held overnight at the station pending a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner.

SHOOTING: Northeastern District -- Police reported a 20-year-old resident of the 1900 block of E. 28th St. was shot shortly after 9 p.m. Wednesday during an attempted robbery in the 1900 block of E. 29th St. Police said the victim was accosted by a man armed with a handgun who demanded his money. Police said the victim tried to run but the gunman fired one shot, striking him in the left thigh. Police said the gunman escaped. The victim was taken by ambulance to University of Maryland Medical Center, where he was admitted.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 4000 block of Hillen Road reported that someone broke into his home Wednesday by forcing the kitchen door and stole property valued at $500.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Police reported a man armed with a handgun entered the Amoco service station in the 6800 block of Harford Road early Wednesday and ordered the station manager to give him the contents of the cash register. After taking an undisclosed sum of cash, the gunman fled on foot.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- An out-of-town resident reported he got out of his car in front of an apartment building in the 4700 block of Parkside Drive and wasabout to enter the building when he was accosted by three men, one armed with a handgun, who demanded his keys. Police said three drove off in the victim's 1979 Ford station wagon bearing license plates ZDN-509.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- A female resident of the 1300 block of Eutaw Place reported she was inside a dwelling in the 4300 block of Stonewood Ave. when two men, one armed with a handgun, forced their way in and locked the woman in the bathroom. Police said the two men ransacked the apartment looking for money and valuables. It was not known if the men found any, but before they left they robbed the woman of a pager she was wearing. Police said the pager was valued at $150.

ROBBERY/ARREST: Southwestern District -- Police yesterday arrested a man after a chase and charged him with robbing a man of nearly $100. Police said a 70-year-old resident of the 2900 block of Westwood Ave. cashed a winning Lottery ticket at a store in the 1800 block of N. Rosedale St. around 1 p.m. and was leaving when a man snatched the money from his hand and ran off. Two police officers saw the man and gave chase. After a three-block pursuit, the officers caught the man and recovered the victim's money. Charged with unarmed robbery and being held at the police station in lieu of $50,000 bail is Gregory Gray, 32, of the 2500 block of Lauretta Ave.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- A resident of the 4900 block of Challedone Road reported that someone broke into his home last night by forcing the front door and stole more than $500.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A man armed with a handgun stopped a resident of the 2500 block of W. North Ave. while he was in the 3500 block of W. North Ave. around 4 p.m. yesterday and demanded his money. Police said the victim gave nearly $140 to the gunman.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- An employee of the Shell Mini-Mart in the 4500 block of Edmondson Ave. reported he was working late Wednesday night when a man armed with a handgun entered the store and demanded his give him money from the cash register. Police said the gunman escaped with more than $100.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A resident of the 4600 block of Manordene Road told police he was walking near his home around 1 a.m. yesterday when he was attacked by a man who struck him with a metal pipe and demanded his money. Police said the man escaped with $40.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A man armed with a handgun stopped a resident of the 800 block of E. 37th St. as she walked in the 200 block of E. 29th St. early Wednesday and ordered her to give up her money. Police said the gunman robbed the woman of $15.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A man was walking in the 3100 block of Old York Road when he was attacked from behind by a man who threw him to the ground and robbed him of his wallet. The victim, a resident of the 4100 block of Old York Road, told police the man who attacked him escaped with $50.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A resident of the 3400 block of Greenmount Ave. reported he was walking near his home when he was stopped by two teen-agers, one armed with a handgun, && who ordered him to give up his money. Police said the victim turned over more than $20.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- A multispeed bicycle valued at more than $800 was reported stolen from a house in the first block of E. 33rd St. Police said entry was gained by forcing a door and that a man in his mid-20s was seen leaving the house with the bike shortly before police arrived.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A man robbed the Subway sandwich shop in the first block of E. 25th St. Wednesday afternoon of an undisclosed sum of cash. Police said after the man ordered some food, he pulled out a handgun and told an employee to give him the contents of the cash register.

SHOOTING: Northern District -- Police today were seeking a woman who shot two women Wednesday afternoon in the 400 block of Whitridge Ave. Police said the victims were accosted by a woman who fired several shots at them with a handgun. Police said both women sustained minor grazing wounds and were released after treatment at an area hospital.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- A resident of the 2900 block of Greenmount Ave. reported that someone fored their way into his apartment between July 24 and Wednesday and stole property valued at nearly $1,000. Police said entry was gained through a bathroom window and that the intruder took a VCR, TV set, radio and a snowball machine.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- Police said a man was walking in the 4100 block of Pall Mall Road Wednesday night when he was attacked from behind by a man who threw him to the ground and robbed him of his money. The victim, a resident of the 3800 block of Reisterstown Road, told police the man got away with $70.

Baltimore County

ROBBERY: Essex District -- A man armed with a knife entered a 7-Eleven store in the 1900 block of Old Eastern Ave. shortly after 5 a.m. today and ordered a clerk to give him the contents of the cash register. After taking an undisclosed sum of cash, the armed man ran out of the store, got on a bicycle and rode off.

ROBBERY: Essex District -- Police today were seeking a man who robbed an Amoco station early today of an undisclosed sum of money while threatening an employee with a knife and a set of brass knuckles. Police said the man entered the station in the 200 block of Eastern Blvd. at 3:25 a.m. and ordered the attendant to empty the cash register.

THEFTS: White Marsh District -- Two residents of the first block of Henry Ave. reported that someone broke into their outdoor storage sheds and stole lawn-care equipment. Police said the thief took a 20-inch lawn mower valued at nearly $200. In the

other incident, police said someone forced open a similar shed at another home and took a weed cutter, lawn mower and other garden equipment and tools. Police said that property was valued at nearly $300.

ROBBERY: Woodlawn District -- Two men, one armed with a handgun, entered a 7-Eleven store in the 7400 block of Milford Mill Road shortly before 4 a.m. yesterday and ordered the clerk to give them the contents of the cash register. Police said they took an undisclosed sum of money.

Anne Arundel County

ARREST: Annapolis -- After an investigation, police this week arrested a 17-year-old at his home in the 700 block of Newtowne Drive and charged him as an adult with the robbery of at least three convenience stores and a doughnut shop last month. Police said three other youths were being sought in connection with the incidents. While searching the home of the teen-ager, Warren Chase, police seized a car radio that had been reported stolen. Police said the youth also was charged with theft of the radio. Police said the youth was charged with the armed robberies of the 7-Eleven store in the 1700 block of Forest Drive on July 18, the 7/Eleven store in the 1500 block of Spa Road on July 21, the Dunkin Donuts shop in the 2000 block of West Street on July 26, and the 7-Eleven store in the 900 block of Bay Ridge Ave. on Aug. 3. Police said the accused is being held at the county's Detention Center in lieu of $37,000 bail. Police said a sawed-off shotgun was used in the 7-Eleven holdups.

ROBBERY: Pasadena -- Police reported two men, one armed with a blue steel revolver, yesterday robbed the Firestone Tire company at Patriots Plaza in the 8000 block of Ritchie Highway. The store's manager told police he was closing the business shortly after 6 p.m. when a man entered the lobby area from the garage and asked if he could help his close up. Mr. Manley said the man then pulled out a handgun and told him to empty the cash register. As the manager was emptying the cash register, a second man appeared in the garage area and was watching the manager through a sliding glass window. After obtaining an undisclosed sum of cash, the gunman told Mr. Manley to sit on the floor and not to move. Police said the gunman and his accomplice fled in an unknown direction.

BURGLARY: Glen Burnie -- A resident of the 900 block of Langley Road reported that someone broke into his home and stole $200 in cash. Police said entry was gained by forcing a door.

BURGLARY: Pasadena -- Police said several pieces of jewelry and other personal items were stolen after someone broke into a house in the 800 block of Swift Road. Police said entry was gained through a door and that at least one room was ransacked.

DRUG ARREST: Annapolis -- After a stop for a minor traffic violation, police arrested a motorist and charged him with possession of a deadly weapon and narcotic paraphernalia. Police said Joseph Boswell, 34, of the 700 block of Warren Drive in Annapolis, was stopped at Clay and Bates streets. While the officer was searching the car, he found a Bowie knife and a pipe that is used to smoke crack cocaine.
