ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- A female resident of the 4600 block of Reisterstown Road reported she was walking in the 3100 block of Wylie Ave. around 8 p.m. yesterday when she was approached from the rear by a man wearing red shorts who grabbed her around the neck and robbed her of the purse she was carrying. Police said the man fled with cash and property, all valued at nearly $400.
ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A man was robbed of his wallet and money last night while pumping gas in his car at a service station in the 2500 block of Gwynns Falls Parkway. Police said the victim, a resident of the 2200 block of Orem Ave., was putting gas in his car at an Amoco station around 7:30 p.m. when he was approached by a man who asked if he could help. When the customer told the man he didn't need any help, the man pulled out what appeared to be a .22-caliber handgun and demanded the motorist's wallet. Police said the motorist gave the gunman his wallet that contained about $100.
ROBBERY/SHOOTING: Western District -- A resident of the 2800 block of W. Lanvale St. was in the 2600 block of Harlem Ave. shortly after 2 a.m. yesterday when he was stopped by a man armed with a handgun who robbed him of cash and property, all valued at more than $400. Police said the gunman then shot the victim in the chest and fled. Police said the victim was in serious condition today at University of Maryland Medical Center.
ROBBERY/ARREST: Western District -- Police arrested a man yesterday and were holding him at the station pending charges of robbing a resident of the 1300 block of W. North Ave. The victim told police he was near his home late yesterday when a man snatched $20 from his hand. Later, police arrested a suspect.
ASSAULT: Western District -- A resident of the 1000 block of W. Saratoga St. was listed in fair condition today at Maryland General Hospital after he was attacked by two men, one armed with a baseball bat, who struck him several times. Police said the victim was in the 300 block of N. Schroeder St. around 4 a.m. Tuesday when he was attacked by two men for no apparent reason and hit several times with the bat. Police said they had no motive for the attack.
THEFT: Western District -- A driver for the Yellow Cab Co. in the 2100 block of Huntingdon Ave. reported that while his car was parked in the 2500 block of W. North Ave. yesterday morning someone broke into the vehicle and stole the trip meter. Police said the meter was valued at $500.
ROBBERY: Western District -- A resident of the 2000 block of Westwood Ave. was in the 1600 block of W. North Ave. around 11 a.m. yesterday when a man pushed her aside and stole more than $200 she had in her hand, police said.
BURGLARY: Western District -- Someone forced their way through a window of an apartment in the 200 block of N. Fremont Ave. between Tuesday night and early yesterday and stole a fan, TV set and shoes. Police said the property was valued at more than $100.
BURGLARY: Western District -- Police said property valued at more than $300 was reported stolen from a dwelling in the 1100 block of N. Fulton Ave. after someone forced the front door. Police said the intruder escaped with several towels, glassware, silverware and other pieces of property. Police said the burglary was discovered yesterday morning.
THEFT: Western District -- Someone broke into a vehicle while it was parked on the property of the Cloverland Dairy in the 2200 block of N. Monroe St. yesterday afternoon and stole two boxes of baseball cards and other pieces of property. Police said the total value of the property was more than $300.
BURGLARY: Western District -- A resident of the 1500 block of W. Baltimore St. reported that someone forced a door of his home yesterday and stole a TV set, VCR and a clothes bag used to carry the other items away. Police said the property was valued at $600.
THEFT: Western District -- Police said a woman known as "Cheryl" was being sought in the theft of money from a man in the 500 block of N. Carrollton Ave. Police said the victim, a resident of the 500 block of N. Carrollton Ave., was intoxicated yesterday and lying on the pavement near his home when the woman reached into his pockets and stole more than $100.
ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A resident of the 1100 block of Wicklow Road reported he was walking in the 4600 block of Manordene Road about 10 p.m. Tuesday when a man armed with a handgun ordered him to give up his money. Police said the gunman escaped with $50.
ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- Two men, one armed with a handgun, stopped a resident of the 4600 block of Coleherne Road as he walked in the 4600 block of Lawnpark Road Tuesday night and robbed him of $2.
ASSAULT/ARREST: Southwestern District -- Police arrested a woman last night and were holding her at the women's detention center at the Central Police District on aggravated assault charges after the attack on a woman in the 4600 block of Manordene Road. Police said the victim, a resident of the block, was in a nearby house on Manordene Road when the other woman sprayed a chemical irritant in her face and struck her with a length of wood with nails sticking out of one end. Police said Andrea Jones, of the 4600 block of Manordene Road, was arrested a short time later and charged with aggravated assault. Ms. Jones was held overnight pending a bail hearing today before a District Court commissioner.
BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- A resident of the 3000 block of W. North Ave. reported that someone broke into his home between Sunday and yesterday and stole three rolls of carpet padding, paint supplies and other items used in renovating the house. Police said the property was valued at $600.
ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A resident of the 400 block of S. Smallwood St. was walking in the 400 block of S. Bentalou St. yesterday evening when she was stopped by a man who placed a hard object in her back and robbed her of nearly $200.
BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- A resident of the 2000 block of Ashton St. told police that someone forced their way into his home yesterday and stole more than $250.
ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- Police today were seeking a man who robbed Dollar Bill's, a store in the 2400 block of Frederick Ave., of an undisclosed sum of cash. Police said the man entered the store around 3 p.m. and forced an employee to open a safe while pointing a handgun at him. The man fled on foot.
SHOOTING: Southwestern District -- A resident of the 3900 block of Cottage Ave. in Northwest Baltimore was in the 4300 block of Edmondson Ave. last night when he was stopped by a man armed with a handgun who demanded his money. Police said when the victim turned to run the gunman fired a shot, striking him in the forearm. Police said the gunman escaped without robbing the victim, who was treated at an area hospital and released.
BURGLARY: White Marsh District -- A resident of the 7900 block of Shirley Ave. in Rosedale told police she was asleep early yesterday when she was awakened by a noise from the first-floor living room. The woman said that when she entered the living room she saw a man climbing through a window. Police said the woman grabbed a curling iron and struck the man several times, causing him to retreat and flee. Nothing was taken, police said.
BURGLARY/ARRESTS: White Marsh District -- Police responding to a burglary of a vacant house in the 8800 block of Pennsbury Place Tuesday afternoon arrested two pre-teen girls. Police said the girls broke into the dwelling and punched holes in several walls, causing hundreds of dollars in damage. Police said no property was taken. After charges of breaking and entering and destruction of property, the girls were released into the custody of their parents pending action by juvenile authorities.

DRUG ARREST: Annapolis -- Police armed with a search and seizure warrant raided a house in the 1000 block of Skyview Drive last night, arrested a 36-year-old man and confiscated PCP and marijuana. Police said members of the Southern and Western Districts tactical narcotics teams entered the dwelling shortly after 8 p.m. and arrested the occupant, Jeffrey Allan Orem. Police said PCP valued at $200, a quantity of marijuana and material to package marijuana were seized. Mr. Orem, a self-employed painter, was charged with possession with intent to distribute PCP and marijuana. He was held overnight at the Southern District pending a bail hearing today before a District Court commissioner. Police said a second occupant of the house also was being sought on drug charges.
ROBBERY: Glen Burnie -- A 30-year-old Glen Burnie man was robbed of his money and tennis shoes by two men outside a convenience store. Police said the victim, of the 7500 block of Md. 2, was leaving the High's Dairy Store on Belle Grove Road when he stopped and asked two men to allow him to pass so he could use the outside telephone. An argument and altercation broke out, police said, during which one of the men pulled a handgun and fired a shot at the victim, missing him. Police said the two men then robbed the victim of $75 and his Nike tennis shoes. The armed man and his accomplice got into a maroon Chevrolet Chevette and drove away.
ROBBERY: Odenton -- Police today were seeking two men who assaulted and robbed a magazine salesman last night while he was going door-to-door selling magazines on Odenton Road. Police said the victim, 19, of Chicago, was selling magazines near Oakton Road shortly before 9 p.m. when he was approached by two men who asked for matches. When he gave one a book of matches, the other struck him in the face and demanded money. After robbing the victim of $35, the men got into a red 2-door hatchback and drove off. Police said the victim sustained a minor mouth injury that did not required medical treatment. Police described the men who beat and robbed the salesman as in their mid-20s. Police said one man had a tattoo of two hearts and the name "Ken" on his left bicep. The other man had tattoos on both arms but that the victim was unable to describe them.
ROBBERY: Finksburg -- Police today continued their search for a man who robbed the Tevco service station in the 3100 block of Baltimore Blvd. and fled with an undisclosed sum of money. Police said a man wearing a straw hat with a red bandanna over his face and armed with a large caliber semi-automatic handgun entered the station office and ordered the attendant to get down on the floor. After taking money from the cash register, the gunman ran out.
BURGLARY: Manchester -- Two homes, one in the 2000 block of Deep Run Road and another in the 1600 block of Garrett Road, were broken into and that property valued at hundreds of dollars was stolen. Police said fishing equipment, firearms, ammunition, cash and other pieces of property were stolen from the two homes.
BURGLARY: Ellicott City -- A resident of the 6500 block of Waterloo Road reported that someone broke into his home by forcing a door and stole cash, jewelry and pictures. Police said the value of the property was not known.
BURGLARY: Columbia -- Police reported that someone forced their way into a dwelling in the 8100 block of Sealight Lane through an unlocked sliding glass door and stole a camcorder and a purse. Police said the value of the property was not known.
