2 men wounded in unrelated city shootings

Two separate shooting incidents within five minutes in West Baltimore yesterday afternoon left two men with bullet wounds to the head, city police reported.

The first shooting occurred at the home of Donald Watson Bey, who lives in the 1800 block of W. Fayette St., at 4:05 p.m. Mr. Bey suffered a gunshot wound to the face, police said.

Police said the shooting is believed to have stemmed from a domestic argument at the home. A suspect has been identified, but no charges have been filed, police said.

Mr. Bey was taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was listed in fair but stable condition today.

Five minutes later, in the basement of a home in the 1400 block of N. Mount St., Darren Brown, 18, was shot once in the head and once in the shoulder by an unknown gunman.

Mr. Brown was listed today in critical but stable condition at the Shock Trauma Center.

Police said the gunman fled the house and as of last night had not been located.
