11 tourney teams, 2 national TV dates await Terps women

The Maryland women's basketball team will face 11 teams invited to postseason play last season and will play two nationally televised games on its 1992-1993 schedule, released yesterday.

The Terps, who finished last season ranked eighth in the country, will play host to Tennessee, George Washington and Howard in the Maryland Invitational Tournament on Dec. 29-30. They also will meet Purdue in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge on CBS-TV on Jan. 2 and play host to Miami, Fla., on Feb. 11 on ESPN.

Maryland opens Dec. 1 at Drexel and ends the regular season at home against Wake Forest on Feb. 27.
