Feiler's hat trick spurs Old Mill to summer lacrosse league win


Jason Feiler's hat trick helped Old Mill nip Glen Burnie/North County, 8-7, in a North County Summer Lacrosse League square-off Sunday.

Steve Windsor added two goals for the winners (4-4), while Mike Majoros (four assists), Dave Butterworth and Jim Bender each added a goal. W. T. Door stopped eight enemy shots for the winners.

Lauren Reich paced Glen Burnie/North County with three goals, while Justin Thompson contributed two with two assists. Matt Clark (one assist) and Jason Meredith tallied single goals in a losing cause.

Larry Rogers and Brian Bayer each handed out an assist, and goalie Chris Labosky netted seven saves.

Also on Sunday, Arundel evened its record to 4-4 in a 9-5 win over Chesapeake, as Keith Sharp tossed in a game-high four goals.

Brian Diacont and Ryan Farr each totaled two goals and an assist for Arundel, while Pat Buck pitched in one goal. Andy Zurvalec dished out two assists for the victors, who received seven saves from Tom Newberry.

Mike Zeruto and Jeff Snow scored two goals apiece for Chesapeake (5-3).

Dave Wheelock posted one goal and two assists, and Steve Gailey tacked on an assist. Losing goalkeeper Eric Distin fended off eight shots.
