63 sought or arrested in 2-month sweep

County police have either arrested or obtained warrants for 63 people in an eight-week drug operation that targeted trafficking in three county neighborhoods.

The operation ended Friday, when narcotics officers say they caught six people in the rear bedroom of an apartment in the 7800 block of Levy Court in Freetown Village weighing and packaging crack cocaine, police said.

Officers seized 25 bags of cocaine with a street value of about $4,300, scales, packaging materials and a .38 caliber handgun. They charged all six with possession with intent to distribute cocaine.

Police also raided three homes in Meade Village and Pioneer City, making arrests on a variety of drug and weapons charges.

PG man arrested in Severn shooting

County police have charged a Prince George's County man with shooting at two men in Severn Monday afternoon.

Mark Warren Watts, 19, of the 7800 block of Sheriff Road in Landover, was charged with shooting at two men as they were walking on Jacobs Road near Pioneer Drive at 1:15 p.m.

The two men were not hit, but the shots hit a home on Jacobs Road, police said. No one was injured.

Mr. Watts also was charged with assault and destruction, police said.

Delivery woman held up at gunpoint

A pizza delivery woman was robbed at gunpoint Friday night in Brooklyn Park, county police reported.

Investigators said the woman, who works for Vizzini's Pizza, was making a delivery in the unit block of Brooks Terrace Road at 11:30 p.m. when a man jumped out of the bushes and robbed her of $100 at gunpoint.

She described the robber as a black man about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds. He was not wearing a shirt but had on blue jeans and a hat.

Glen Burnie man robbed at store

A 30-year-old Glen Burnie man told police he was robbed early yesterday morning by two men outside a convenience store.

Detectives said the victim asked two men standing in front of the High's store on Belle Grove Road at 1:43 a.m. if they would move out of the way so he could use the pay phone.

A fight broke out and the pair robbed the victim of his tennis shoes and $75, detectives said.
