City police today were seeking the attackers of two tourists who were slashed while visiting the Inner Harbor Saturday night.
The men were cut with a box cutter inside the Light Street Pavilion at Harborplace after confronting six men who had made lewd comments about the wife of one of the tourists, police said.
The two victims were released yesterday from Maryland Shock Trauma Center after being treated for serious cuts.
Investigators said Lamont Valdez, 25, of Alexandria, Va., received a 4-inch wound over his right eye and a 6-inch wound to his back after questioning one of the men about what had been said.
A friend walking ahead turned to help after hearing screams and also was attacked.
Police said Eric S. Johnson, 23, of Washington received a 5-inch cut to the neck and a cut on his left shoulder.
Police said that after the attack, on the upper level of the pavilion, the assailants ran out of the building.
