How would you describe your taste in clothing?

Being casual and comfortable is a priority for me. In my work I first consider how long my day is going to be and how my feet are going to feel. Today I'm in my polka dot shorts set and comfortable white Keds.

What's the newest thing in your closet?

It's a dress I'm going to wear to a wedding in a floral print on a navy blue background. It's not a Liz Claiborne but I wish it was. I love Liz Claiborne.

What's the oldest thing in your closet?

A cocktail dress which belonged to my aunt. It's 45 years old and I can still wear it. It has a lace strapless-looking top with tulip skirt.

Do you have a true standby that you wear to feel good?

My white jumpsuit is very versatile because it can be dressed up or down.

What have you held on to for sentimental reasons?

Nothing. In my everyday wardrobe, if I haven't worn it for two years I get rid of it. I'll keep dressy clothes a little longer.

What is your wardrobe weakness?

Shoes. Nowadays I can't resist comfortable flats in rainbows of color.

What's the most expensive item in your closet?

My good winter coat cost a lot. It's a navy blue wraparound by Geoffrey Beene.

What's the least expensive item in your closet?

I gave one of my clients $4 for a pair of thong sandals she bought in Haiti. They're woven and beaded and I still wear them after I've had a pedicure.

What's the wildest outfit you ever wore?

I caused some looks when I wore a short, strapless gauze jumpsuit on a cruise. I also wore it to my sister's baby shower and caused some raised eyebrows, but then I was family and got away with it.

What are your favorite accessories?

I have a small waist so I can wear belts well. My favorite was hand-beaded by American Indian craftsmen and I found it in Deadwood, S.D.

Do you have any shopping tips to share?

I'm a good bargain hunter. The best way to get the best buys is to go into discount stores with an open mind. If you go looking for something specific you'll never find it. It's also important to know labels and prices so that you recognize a really good bargain when you see it.
