LOS ANGELES -- Lately, a series of breakups have rocked the heavy metal rock scene. Vince Neil, for example, left Motley Crue, and singer Joey Belladonna was booted out of Anthrax just days after the band signed a lucrative new contract with Elektra Records.
Slowly but surely, these and other dramas seem to be working them selves out. Mr. Neil recently announced the identities of his new band, and included in the lineup is former Billy Idol sidekick, Steve Stevens. Mr. Neil's Warner Bros. Records solo debut album should be out in fall.
Former Ratt singer Stephen Pearcy has formed a band called Taboo. The band recently signed a record deal with Epic Records. The band also features former Cinderella drummer Fred Coury. The band's debut album is slated for release this fall.
Finally, former White Lion singer Mike Tramp has re-emerged with a quintet called Freak of Nature. The band consists of unknown musicians from New York, Los Angeles and Tramp's native Denmark. The band, which is performing a series of
unannounced gigs around Hollywood, is seeking a record deal.
