FREE SOUNDS: Stop by the Inner Harbor's Amphitheater between Harborplace's pavilions at 5 o'clock this evening and hear some live music -- free. The group is called Cry Monday, and specializes in old and new favorites. The concert will end at 7 p.m. It's part of the Beefeater Cool Summer Sounds concert series on Saturday evenings in June.
* On Thursday, forget those Cosby reruns and get to Hopkins Plaza for another free concert. Upbeat jazz played by Global Function is the attraction of tonight's 7 o'clock gig -- part of the La Provence Thursday Night Concert Series.
DAY-TRIPPER: Spend an entire day relaxing on a miniature cruise for under $20. Harbor Cruises began its daylong cruises from the Inner Harbor to Annapolis this week. The next run on the Lady Baltimore is Wednesday, June 24. Launch time each Wednesday is 8:30 a.m., returning to Baltimore at 5:30 p.m. Information: 727-3113.
PLAN AHEAD: Four Dutch and two Polish naval vessels are scheduled to arrive late next Friday and will be available for visits next weekend.
The modern Dutch navy ships, which operate in the northern and eastern Atlantic Ocean, and their 824 officers and crew members have stopped at Curacao and Fort Lauderdale, Fla., since leaving the Netherlands April 21. They'll head home July 15 after visiting Boston. They'll be docked at the Inner Harbor's West Wall and at North Locust Point.
The two Polish visitors are sailing ships -- the tall-ship Dar Mlodziezy and the smaller Zawifza Czarny. They're scheduled to dock at Pier 5 in the Inner Harbor and at Fells Point, respectively. (More on next weekend's visiting schedules in next week's column.) Information: 837-4636 or 1-(800) 282-6632.
