Nominate advocates for disabled

The county government wants to honor employers and advocates for the disabled this month and has established a special award to do just that.

Nominations close tomorrow for the First Harford County Executive's Partnership Award -- Employer Of or Advocate For Persons with Disabilities.

A Harford County resident, business or group that has made significant contributions toward improving the lives of those with disabilities will be presented with the award June 30 by County Executive Eileen M. Rehrmann at the annual Association of Retarded Citizens Awards Dinner.

Nominees may be individuals or groups that have made exceptional volunteer efforts or who have contributed significantly to the presence and participation in community life of individuals with disabilities.

Nominations must be made in writing with the name, address, and telephone number of the nominee and an explanation of no more than 200-words of the nominee's exceptional volunteer efforts. Nominations must be submitted no later than 4:30 p.m. June 15 to Susan Collins, Harford County Government Public Information Office, 220 S. Main St. Bel Air, Maryland 21014.

Information: Collins, 838-6000, Ext. 223.
