Capital Gazette wins special Pulitzer Prize citation for coverage of newsroom shooting that killed five

A Mass of Christian burial for Lisa A. Pufka, an accountant and a former resident of Laurel, will be offered at 11 a.m. tomorrow at St. Therese of the Child Jesus in Altoona, Pa.

Mrs. Pufka, who was 25 and moved from Laurel to Newark, Del., nearly two years ago, was killed Sunday in an automobile accident in Bear, Del.

While living in Laurel, she worked in Baltimore for the Ernst & Young accounting firm. A certified public accountant, Mrs. Pufka worked in Newark for MBNA America, the credit card company.

The former Lisa A. Belsey was a native of North Carolina. She was raised in Altoona and graduated in 1988 from Pennsylvania State University with an accounting degree.

She is survived by her husband, Steven Pufka; her parents, Donald E. and Janet M. Belsey of Altoona; a sister, Michele Belsey of Altoona; and her grandmothers, Mary Shumansky of Patton, Pa., and Rita Suhr of Amityville, N.Y.
