Severna Park man killed on highway
A 77-year-old Severna Park man was killed Thursday when his car struck another car on Ritchie Highway, county police reported.
According to the police report, Clarence James Townsend, of the 100 block of Clarence Ave., was driving south on Ritchie Highway at about 3:15 p.m. when his car rammed a car that was stopped at a red light.
That set off a chain reaction involving a second car. Four people in that car were injured.
Townsend was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
Names and conditions of the injured were not available Friday, police said.
Woman, 26, raped in Pasadena home
A 26-year-old Pasadena woman told police a man raped her in her home Thursday night.
Detectives said the rapist was visiting in the woman's home at about 8 p.m. He went in her bedroom and threatened her with a knife before raping her, police said.
The woman went to a neighbor's home and called police. She was treated for a cut lip and other injuries at North Arundel Hospital.
Darrin Hill, 25, of the 8100 block of Elizabeth Road in Pasadena, was charged with first-degree rape and assault with a deadly weapon, police said.
Teen-ager charged with buying beer
County police have charged a Laurel teen-ager with possession of alcohol after they watched him buy beer at a liquor store last Saturday, police said.
According to the police report, officers were working on surveillance at the Finish Line Liquor store on Route 198 in Laurel when they saw a car pull up to the store at about 11 p.m. and a teen-ager buy two 12-packs of beer.
Police charged Dennis Brewster Jones, 18, of the 400 block of Gorman Avenue, on a citation.
City man charged in drug investigation
A 24-year-old Annapolis man has been charged with drug dealing in the culmination of an undercover investigation, police said Friday.
Kenneth M. Booze, of the 900 block of Spa Road, was arrested at 5:46 p.m. Wednesday after police say he sold an undercover detective an ounce of crack cocaine. The cocaine had a street value of $1,200, police said.
Police began an undercover investigation after receiving tips about the suspect's alleged drug dealing.
