509 Reisterstown Road Hours: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays to Wednesdays; 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursdays; 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fridays. (410) 764-3474. For a pair of health-conscious, diet-watching empty-nesters, carryout has a whole other meaning: It's for other people. When there are just the two of us, whipping up a fake-egg omelet or defrosting a bag of veggies to toss with pasta and tomato sauce seems more sensible -- and quicker -- than going out to get something to bring back in.

But other people expect more. So, when we're feeding more than just ourselves on a weekday evening, the dictates of time might send us to O'Fishel for a home-style dinner-to-go.

A kosher caterer in unpretentious -- to put it kindly -- digs in a shopping strip in Pikesville, O'Fishel sells by the serving or by the party: $4.50 gets you half a chicken, fried or roasted, to feed one big appetite or two small ones; $8.95 buys the whole bird. Another $2.25 pays for a little plastic tub of slaw, or carrot or potato salad.

For folks who want something heftier, and want it on a regular basis, there's a $10 up-front fee to get discounts on Friday-night dinners featuring two or more chickens with side dishes.
