Services for Madison W. Rawley of Glen Burnie will take place at 10 a.m. June 1 at the Linthicum United Methodist Church, where he was a member.

Visitation will take place at the Singleton Funeral Home between 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. May 30 and 31.

Mr. Rawley, 77, died of cancer at his home May 26.

Originally from Maine, he lived in Andover, Mass., and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Mr. Rawley worked for Lever Brothers as a senior operator for 41 years, until he retired in 1979.

His interests included tennis, bike riding, wood carving and jogging.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Grace F. Rawley; three daughters, Diane G. Zoller of Severna Park, Jean C. Bean of Pasadena, and Donna A. Petryszak; a sister, Frances Roberts of Massachusetts, a sister-in-law, Rita F. Rawley; and seven grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the Hospice of the Chesapeake, 403 Headquarters Drive No. 1, Millersville, Md. 21108; or the Linthicum United Methodist Church, 200 School Lane, Linthicum, Md. 21090.

Arrangements were by the Singleton Funeral Home.

Edward Lechert Sr.

Salesman, 70

A Mass of Christian burial for salesman and truck driver Edward J. Lechert Sr. of Ferndale was offered May 27 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, where he was a member.

Mr. Lechert, 70, died May 23 of a heart attack at North Arundel Hospital.

He was born in Baltimore and educated at Patterson Park High School.

Mr. Lechert worked for the Bond Distributing Co. until he retired in 1987. His other interests included fishing and crabbing.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Marie Faulkner Lechert; two brothers, Albert Lechert Sr. of Dundalk and Joseph Lechert Sr. of Baltimore; a sister, Estella Rush; and three grandchildren.

Arrangements were by the Singleton Funeral Home.
