Bank appoints officers
TANEYTOWN -- The following officers have been appointed at Taneytown Bank and Trust Co.:
Barbara L. Belton, commercial banking officer; Linda L. Abbott, assistant vice president; Martin S. Reeve, assistant vice president; Linda L. Bennett, vice president of Human Resources; and Nina L. Reaver, vice president/secretary.
Bank announces income
Mason-Dixon Bancshares Inc., parent corporation of Carroll County Bank and Trust Co., announced a 14 percent increase in net income for the quarter ended March 31, compared with the same quarter last year.
Net income for the quarter increased by $142,041, to $1,155,748.
Earnings per share were 77 cents, compared with 67 cents for the same period in 1991.
Corporation assets grew by 4.1 percent and deposits by 2.7 percent for the reporting period. Total assets were $454.1 million, an increase of $17.7 million. Outstanding loans were $215.5 million, a decrease of 10.2 percent, compared with the first quarter of 1991.
Carroll County Bank and Trust has 12 offices in Carroll and one in Ellicott City, Howard County.
Hats off to businesses
WESTMINSTER -- Five county businesses were honored yesterday by the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce as they celebrated anniversaries or expansions.
The businesses were honored at a "Hats Off" breakfast at Friendly Farm Restaurant.
* Basically Computers at 1004 Littlestown Pike in Westminster on its 10th anniversary.
* Carroll County YMCA, which will open its new facility on Washington Road in Westminster next month.
5l * Random House Inc. at 400 Hahn Road in Westminster on its 25th anniversary.
* Bill Rohrbaugh's Charter Service Inc. at 3395 Main St. in Manchester on its 20th anniversary.
* Taneytown Bank and Trust Co., which opened an expanded main office at 222 E. Baltimore St. in Taneytown last month.
