Woman, 29, raped in city apartment

A 29-year-old Prince George's County woman told police she was picked up by a man in Washington and taken to an apartment in Annapolis, where she was assaulted and raped.

The woman said the man drove her to an apartment in Admiral Oaks early Thursday and threatened to hurt her if she didn't perform oral sex, Annapolis police said. He also forced her to have intercourse, police said.

She escaped at about 1 a.m. and made her way to Anne Arundel Medical Center, where she was treated for injuries and interviewed by police.

The woman told police she was at a telephone booth in Washington when the man drove by and invited her for a ride. She said she assumed they were going for a drink and asked him to drive her to her Laurel home, police said. But the man passed all the exits and took her to his apartment.

Police described the suspect as a black man wearing a blue work shirt, blue work pants and a Redskins jacket.
