Marino forming youth aid program

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Dan Marino wants to make an impact off the field as well.

The Miami Dolphins quarterback announced he has formed a non-profit organization to support Florida youth charities.

"I've had more than my share of good fortune both on and off the

field," the All-Pro quarterback said. "I've always strived to contribute to the youth of the community and now feel the time has come to make an even greater impact."

The Dan Marino Foundation will help meet the educational, physical, and emotional needs of youth in South Florida by supporting agencies that provide food, clothing, health care, tutoring and counseling, Marino said.

"The major fall project will be Touchdowns for Tots," Marino said. "With every touchdown pass that I throw this season, corporations will be invited to contribute toward a fund-raising drive."
