A 30-year-old West Baltimore man was fatally shot early today during an armed robbery inside a carryout in the 1800 block of Edmondson Ave., police said.
Two teens were being sought.
Homicide Detective Scott Keller said the victim, Sterling A. Ingram, of the 500 block of Poplar Grove St., was waiting for a food order shortly before 11 p.m. at the Good Luck Chi
nese restaurant when two young men, one armed with a 9mm semiautomatic handgun, entered.
Detective Keller said the men attempted to rob Mr. Ingram, who was holding money in his hand. He struggled with the gunman and was shot in the chest. Mr. Ingram staggered outside and fell to the pavement, the detective said. He was pronounced dead at the scene by a city ambulance crew.
The robbers picked up the victim's money from the floor after he fell and ran, police said.
Later, police issued warrants charging Richard Towson, 17, of the 5600 block of Frankford Ave., and Troy D. Friend, 18, of the 600 block of Brice St., with first-degree murder and use of a handgun in the commission of a felony.
