Man, 22, is held in shooting death

First-degree murder charges were expected to be placed today against Dane Kevin Woods, 22, of the 6000 block of Radecke Ave., following the death last night of a man he is accused of shooting, Baltimore County police said.

Kilton J. McNair, 20, of the 6000 block of Framingham Road in Cedonia, died about 11:15 p.m. yesterday at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore of a gunshot wound to the head, police said.

Mr. Woods was leaving a store near his home about 7 p.m. Monday when Mr. McNair approached and struck him with his fist, police said.

Police said Mr. Woods then pulled out a .22-caliber handgun and shot the victim in the chest and head.

Mr. Woods was arrested and charged with assault with intent to murder and using a handgun in the commission of a felony, police said. He was being held without bail in the county detention center.
