The delegate count

Both President Bush and Bill Clinton continued their dominance in the primaries.

The president gained 89 delegates in yesterday's votes. His only challenger, Patrick Buchanan, got 12. Mr. Bush already has captured enough delegates to ensure his renomination.

Mr. Clinton picked up 151 delegates in yesterday's Democratic primaries and caucuses while Jerry Brown captured 21, "uncommitted" 12 and Paul Tsongas 1. Mr. Clinton now has a total of 1,743 toward the 2,145 needed to capture the nomination.
