Martha Hedrick Husk

Martha Hedrick Husk, who had operated a beauty shop in the Brooklyn area of Baltimore and was known for her volunteer work, died Friday of cancer at her home on Randall Street. She was 59.

A memorial service for Mrs. Husk was being held today at Chesapeake Baptist Church, 585 Old Oak Road in Severn.

She is survived by her husband, Lee Husk; a daughter, Julia George of Pearl City, Hawaii; a stepdaughter, Barbara Valenza of Baltimore; two stepsons, Shirl Husk of Columbia and David Husk of Essex; five brothers, Avery Pugh of Eden, N.C., Charles Pugh of Baltimore, Robert Pugh of Anawalt, W.Va., Mack Pugh of Collinsville, Va., and Daniel Pugh, of Texas; six sisters, Ossie Van Dyke, Sarah Grubb and Anna Howard, all of Columbus, Ohio, Donna Salyers and Mary Godby, both of Pocahontas, Va., and Edna Reynolds of Collinsville; and a grandson.

A Martha Husk Fund for Children's Ministry has been established at Chesapeake Baptist Church.
