THE BALTIMORE EVENING SUN

A 26-year-old man has been charged with assault with intent to murder in the stabbing and beating of his aunt, police said.

Troy N. Moses, of the 4000 block of Penhurst Ave., was arrested about 2:30 a.m. yesterday at Sinai Hospital, where he had gone for treatment for cuts he suffered in the incident, said homicide Det. Gary Dunnigan.

Mr. Moses also was charged with armed robbery. He was being held in the Central District lock-up pending a bail hearing today in District Court, Detective Dunnigan said.

Virginia Gunthrop, 53, who lives in the Penhurst Avenue building but in a different apartment, is listed in serious but stable condition at the University of Maryland Medical Center, a nurse there said.
