CAB HOLDUP: Northwestern District -- A gunman robbed a Diamond cab driver of his money yesterday afternoon, then locked the victim in the trunk of his vehicle. The 65-year-old cabbie told police he was driving in the 3000 block of Reisterstown Road around noon when he was flagged down by a man who asked to be driven to Park Heights and Virginia avenues. The driver told police that when he reached the destination, the man told him to drive to the rear of the 2300 block of Wichita Ave. There, police said, the fare implied he was armed with a handgun and robbed the cabbie of about $60. After taking the victim's money, police said, the man forced the cabbie into the trunk. About an hour later, a resident of the area heard the cabbie yelling and banging on the trunk lid and called police, who forced open the trunk and freed him. Police said the cabbie was examined at the scene by the crew of a city fire department ambulance, then driven home by a police officer.
ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 700 block of Cator Ave. was being given a ride by three men when the car stopped in the 1500 block of Gorsuch Ave. around 3:30 a.m. yesterday. The victim told police one of the men pulled out a handgun and ordered him to give up his money. Police said the victim gave up more than $70 to the gunman, then was forced out of the car.
BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 2700 block of Chesley Ave. reported that someone broke into his home yesterday through a basement window and stole cash and jewelry valued at $300.
BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Property valued at more than $2,000 was reported stolen from a dwelling in the 5300 block of Eastbury Ave. after someone entered with a key. Police said two TVs and several pieces of jewelry were stolen.
THEFT: Northeastern District -- Employees of Cheryl's hair salon in the 4700 block of Hazelwood Ave. reported that, between March 27 and Wednesday, someone stole the shop's sign, valued at $400.
THEFT: Northeastern District -- A basketball hoop and its backboard were reported stolen from the back yard of a house in the 4600 block of Moravia Road. The occupant of the house told police the hoop was valued at $400 and the theft occurred Wednesday night or yesterday.
BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 6000 block of Amberwood Road reported that someone entered his home after breaking a bedroom window Wednesday or yesterday and stole stereo equipment and a TV valued at more than $700.
BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Property valued at more than $200 was reported stolen from a dwelling in the 4000 block of Franconia Way yesterday after someone gained entry through a rear bedroom window. Police said the intruder escaped with cash and a portable radio.
THEFT: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 5600 block of Goodnow Road reported that someone she knows entered her home yesterday and stole property valued at nearly $1,500. She told police the theft occurred after her brother allowed the man into the house. Police said the victim was expected to seek a warrant for the man's arrest.
ROBBERY: Southern District -- A man was robbed of property valued at more than $500 Wednesday night while he was walking in the 2400 block of Hammonds Ferry Road. The victim, whose home address was not available, reported he was walking alone shortly after 9 p.m. when he was stopped by a man armed with what appeared to be a sawed-off shotgun. The victim told police the man ordered him to give up his jewelry. Police said the victim gave the gunman jewelry valued at $560.
BURGLARY: Southern District -- A resident of the 200 block of S. Randall St. reported that someone broke into his home Wednesday night and stole three oak doors with stained-glass windows, and a briefcase. Police said the property was valued at more than $2,000.
THEFT: Northern District -- A resident of Virginia reported that while her $700 multispeed mountain bike was parked in a bike rack in the 2900 block of Wyman Park Drive this week, someone cut the security chain and stole it.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone broke into a garage in the rear of a dwelling in the 1100 block of Bryn Mawr Road and stole a mountain bike valued at $800. Police said the break-in occurred between Tuesday night and yesterday morning.
STABBING/ARREST: Northern District -- Robert Johnson, 35, of the 5500 block of Lothian Road, was in critical condition today at the University of Maryland Medical Center after he was stabbed several times during an altercation with two men inside his house late Wednesday night. Police said Mr. Johnson was arguing with two men around 11 p.m. when he went to the kitchen and returned with two butcher knives. During a brief struggle, the two men wrestled the knives from Mr. Johnson and stabbed him in the chest, piercing his heart. Mr. Johnson was taken to the hospital. Arrested a short time later and charged with assault with intent to murder and using a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony was Leonard Brooks, 31, a resident of the house in which the stabbing occurred. Police said the other man was being sought.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- A resident of the 300 block of E. University Parkway reported that someone broke into his home Wednesday or yesterday by breaking a rear window and stole stereo equipment and a VCR, all valued at $500.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone broke into a house in the 3700 block of Greenmount Ave. and stole two rifles and a shotgun. Police said the weapons were valued at more than $1,000 and entry was gained by breaking a window with a brick and then unlocking a door.
THEFT: Northern District -- A resident of the 800 block of Wyman Park Drive reported that while his car was parked near his home Wednesday, someone removed all four of its wheel covers, which had a combined value of more than $500.
THEFT: Northern District -- Two residents of the 800 block of W. Lake Ave. reported that someone broke into their cars yesterday while the vehicles were parked near their homes and stole property valued at nearly $500. Police said the thief escaped with a portable radio, a TV and other items.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- Several pieces of electronic equipment were reported stolen from a dwelling in the 600 block of Walker Ave. yesterday after someone got in through a basement window. Police said the property had a combined value of nearly $2,200.
BURGLARIESBURGLARIES: Northern District -- A maintenance man for an apartment building in the 3700 block of Greenmount Ave. reported that while he was making his rounds Wednesday night and yesterday morning, he discovered that the front doors of three unoccupied apartments had been pried open and property taken. Police said someone entered the apartments and stole several kitchen and wall cabinets, valued at nearly $800.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone stole a 1986 motorcycle parked in the 5800 block of Kenmore Road Tuesday night or Wednesday afternoon. Police said the motorcycle was valued at $400 and the thief cut the security cable before stealing the vehicle.
ROBBERY: Western District -- A resident of the 200 block of N. Fulton Ave. reported she was walking in the 900 block of N. Payson St. Wednesday afternoon when she was stopped by a man who implied he was armed with a handgun and demanded her money. Police said the woman gave the man an envelope containing more than $60 in cash and food stamps valued at nearly $200.
RAPE/ARRESTS: Western District -- Police arrested two boys and charged them as juveniles with the rape of a teen-age girl inside a house in the 1400 block of Mountmor Court on April 5. Police said the victim reported she was forced into the house, where she was held down and raped by the pair. After the girl was let go, she reported the incident to police and was taken to an area hospital for treatment and released. It was not immediately known if the boys were released to their parents or held at a juvenile facility pending action by juvenile authorities.
ROBBERY: Western District -- A a man was robbed early yesterday of nearly $300 after he was attacked by several youths who struck him with a baseball bat. Police said the victim, a resident of the 4900 block of Frederick Ave., was in the 500 block of N. Carey St. around 2 a.m. when he was attacked by a group of teen-agers, who stole his wallet containing $275, then hit him with a baseball bat. Police said the victim did not require medical attention.

ROBBERY: Woodlawn District -- A deliveryman man for Domino's pizza in the 7400 block of Liberty Road was delivering food in the 3400 block of Gaither Road when he was accosted by a man with a handgun, who forced him to give up his money. Following the robbery, the victim returned to the pizza shop and reported the incident. Police said the gunman escaped with an undisclosed sum.
ROBBERY: Woodlawn District -- Employees of Alexander's Videos in the 2300 block of N. Rolling Road said a man and woman robbed them Wednesday night. Police said the couple entered the video store around 8:30 p.m. and looked around for a few minutes before the man went to the counter, pulled a handgun and demanded money. Police said that while the clerk was emptying the cash register, the woman walked behind the counter and told the clerk to put the money in a yellow bag she was carrying. Police said the couple escaped with an undisclosed sum.
Anne Arundel County
ARRESTS: Annapolis -- Police early Wednesday stopped a van that had been stolen and charged its four male occupants, two of them juveniles, with auto theft and possession of a handgun. Police said an officer was in the 2000 block of West St. around 2 a.m. when he passed a parked Dodge van occupied by four males. Police said the occupants ducked down, so the officer stopped and investigated. A check of the vehicle showed it had been stolen from a Rockville car dealership. In the van, police found a loaded .25 caliber semiautomatic handgun. Charged were two 18-year-olds, James L. Broadus, of the 12000 block of Viers Mill Road in Rockville, and Curtis E. Spencer, of the 500 block of Fresham Place in Washington. Two 17-year-olds were charged as adults. They were identified as Errol Clifford Alderman, of the 2300 block of Patten Bond Drive in Wheaton, and Ahmad K. Braxton, of the 8400 block of 10th Ave. in Silver Spring.
DRUG ARREST: BWI -- State Police and U.S. Customs agents over the weekend arrested a 28-year-old Prince George's County woman shortly after she walked off an Air Jamaica flight from Montego Bay. They charged her with smuggling cocaine. During a search, police found more than 250 grams of cocaine stuffed in condoms. Cpl. Jack Simpson, supervisor of the state police drug interdiction unit at the airport, declined to say what caused the officers to suspect the woman was carrying contraband. Charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and smuggling cocaine was Mary Elden Kent, of Capitol Heights.
BURGLARY: Linthicum -- A resident of the 400 block of Hillview Drive reported that someone broke into his home through a door and stole household items valued at $100.
